This is what I don't understand. How does the stance that Metallica takes change anything? You guys seem like you want them to say what you are all saying and if they don't comply then cancel them. Is that right? Maybe focus yours attention on the people that actually make the decisions and not music artists that don't echo your sentiments.

All they had to do was not say anything and just play music. They decided it was a good idea to mock artists that do speak about politics.

It does change things sadly.

If they wanted to stay silent then okay, no one is forcing no one to come clear about their political beliefs.

What they did, however was bashing other people for doing that and calling it bullshit.

As in Metal isn't a kind of music that's so often used as a way to embody the oppression of the industrial complex and the frustration of the workers. As in their entire genre isn't about roaring against the suffering that rich people want to bring on us all.

And here they are, whining about people "taking sides"

Whining about people saying that the systematic murder of people's is wrong, that some fellows getting cruel and unusual treatment in prison is wrong, so long and so forth.

That's it. They are pussies for standing for silence, because it was the denial of Metal's ideals.

Fuck them really.

Also they only specifically talked about people taking sides with Palestinian and LGBT people so fuck them threefold.

Why not talk about the artists that are sliding with the current administration betraying their own musical community? Why not complain about people taking sides with republicans? Or is that not political enough, it's only political when you talk about the practical extermination of a nationality and the rights of peopteho have done nothing particularly wrong?

Please, make it make sense.

“You can stay silent”

“Ok, I will stay silent”

“Oh! So you’re conservative/maga/republican then!! You’re taking a stance!!!!!!!!!”

But they weren't silent.

If they wanted to be silent about it, they would have shut the fuck up about all matters completely.

They wouldn't have botched about "political artists" on the big stage.

But they did. Because they didn't want to stay silent, they wanted to pose as moral superiors failing to understand that in this instance they are just plain wrong.

If you don't want to do anything about politics then you shut up about politics, not make half assed remarks at others about politics, not talk about why you are good or better for not doing politics, if ore the entire fucking debate all together.

This is a drama that could have been avoided at conception.

Let’s be honest. There isn’t any drama. It’s just a tiny percentage of people online once again making an issue out of nothing; about a band the majority of them don’t listen to.

Tho I do. I fucking love Metallica, and I still wish to see them live on stage one day.

And honestly, it's outrageous. It caters to exactly one kind of person, and that one kind of person is someone who doesn't desire change for the better. Not for themselves, nor for anyone.

There is nothing more annoying than people with power and momentum to their name saying the stupidest bullshit you have ever heard.
