This was when Ronald Reagan invented trickle down theory, so they could piss on poor people which is all that trickled down.

It's funny, we have been saying thiss for damn near 50 years yet 30% of people still don't get it.

šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø That’s the dumbest fucking thing I have ever heard. Team red is the ones who exist solely to give tax cuts to the rich and corporations, aka trickle down.

Trickle Down was a democratic talking point to describe the theory that Regan was concentrating wealth and that the only way the people would benefit would be as the wealthy spent money and it "trickled down". It's never been a right wing position that this would happen.

But if you look at what the democratic party, and especially its ascendent socialist wing, wants it's exactly that. Concentrate control of wealth in the federal government in the form of high taxation in the hopes that the government will spend the money in a way that trickles the wealth back down to the people.

The entire argument of the left isn't "That won't work" but rather "We want to be in charge of that."

We had high marginal tax brackets. We had the best middle class on Earth. Then Reagan said hey let’s try cutting corporate taxes, taxes for the rich, and magically the poor will get richer, the economy will be booming, and poverty and unemployment will be gone. Next Republican doubles down on it. And then the next. Higher and higher deficit spending every year a Republican is in office. And then they leave a recession.

Republican policies can’t even keep up with inflation when it comes to growing the economy. And they can’t create jobs for shit.

In charge of that as in social spending and good policies that make life affordable and bearable? Living wages, free childcare, affordable healthcare, … shit like that?

REPUBLICANS CANNOT GOVERN.

Yeah, it originated with the captain of team blue… Herbert Hoover.

Famous liberal Herbert Hoover.

Communist socialist Islamic jihadist trans for everyone boys in girls sports Herbert Hoover.

Just in case you missed it that is all sarcasm and mockery of the pathetically uninformed state of conservatives in America in the 21st century, who say things like trickle down economics came from Democratic policies.

It *is* the democratic policy. Concentrate wealth in the government. Good will happen.
