Presidents come and go. America is here to stay. If you’re offended by the flag then you need to uninstall Reddit and go take a stroll outside and realize most people don’t care

Pattern recognition bro, that's all

Funny thing.. I was thinking the same thing while in the ghetto of my town.
How do you like your side of the horseshoe?

Most people are proud to be American regardless of who holds the White House. It’s sad these people let politics become their entire identity and they assume it must be true for everyone else as well. Get out of your damn echo chambers… we’re still one of the best countries to live in… period.

Generally true, but you have to take into account our mid-tier rankings since the 1980s for: education, cost of living, happiness, health outcomes, obesity, average wage, income inequality, life expectancy, infant mortality, pregnancy complications, leading causes of death, national debt, inflation/devaluation of currency, etc.

Not to mention our more recent low-tier rankings for: press freedom, democracy, credit worthiness, etc.

I swear you people don't know what the word "offended" means anymore. No, they aren't offended, but flying the American flag signals a level of "patriotism" that the country, in its current state, has not earned. The majority of the people who are flying the flag at their house right now are MAGA, because anybody else would be ashamed to put that on their lawn in 2026

Lmao, you’re too far gone.

Most people don’t think this way.

And no the ā€œmajorityā€ of people who fly an American flag aren’t ā€œmagaā€.

Go take a survey.

who is ā€œyou peopleā€?

i rarely hear that phrasing being used in an intelligent, pragmatic way.

I fly my flag because I Iove and believe in my country and what it can be. Doesn’t matter if people think we’ve ā€œearned itā€ or not.

nobody is offended by the flag. we are all proud Americans. we just don't make a show of it.

i don't need to fly 3 different flags and put stickers all over my stuff to feel like a proud American. i AM a proud American. i don't need validation.

ill fly my flag on the holidays that expect it out of respect. flying it every day means those days lose their value.

this post isn't saying that people that fly the flag are bad people. it is saying that in this political climate, the people with bad harmful politics seem obsessed with flying the flag everyday despite them clearly not respecting what it stands for. ie. the far right who want censorship and to take away womens rights to vote or birthright citizenship are people who have views that are antithetical to the constitution and what the flag stands for (freedom).

so it is annoying to see freedom hating losers fly the flag like it's their only personality trait. and for that to be so common that whenever you see someone flying a flag not on a holiday you can often assume they are that kind of person.

Most other countries don’t have birthright citizenship btw

I took a stroll outside once and got attacked for it lmao. Not gonna happen again

u/deathshr0ud 2h ago

No you didn’t

ā€œTrans people don’t get attacked for being transā€

Really now?

1

u/deathshr0ud 1h ago

That’s such a strawman. No one’s talking about trans people. We’re talking about how Redditors think that the world is a reflection of their online presence.

And no, you didn’t just walk outside and get attacked. Get real.

People are attacked outside all the time for all sorts of reasons? Wtf are you talking about? What part of "I got attacked outside" seems unlikely to you?

1

u/deathshr0ud 1h ago

The fact that they went for a stroll and immediately got on Reddit after ā€œgetting attackedā€

No one got attacked. Stop larping as a victim

Who said anything about it being "immediate"? "I once got attacked" could be any time in the past. It's insane to read somebody say they were attacked and just immediately assume they're lying... Do you think it's rare for people to be attacked? What kind of weird response even is this
