Same. Got a neighbour with a 250th anniversary flag and man, I just gotta assume "shitheel"

That says more about you than your neighbor.
You can love your own country without being aligned with a far right party.
You are just another smooth brained fool so incompetent you can’t have an independent thought.

You can absolutely love your country without being far right!

As an example, I love my country. I fkn better since I did my time in my countries military.

To me - and this could just be a "me" thing - loving my country comes with two things topical to this conversation: 1. Critiquing my country with a desire to improve it. 2. Signalling to my neighbours that we can just be neighbours and we chill.

A bombastic show of patriotic nationalism is not chill. It can be made chill by including some bonus symbols - add a pride flag, a BLM sign, or any number of other symbols that some of my neighbours might recognize in order to communicate "I am celebrating my country and celebrating everyone being part of it"

Frankly, if you think someone flying a 250 flag alone wouldn't raise alarm bells with some at-risk people then I don't think you understand how communication through symbols works and the smoothbrain may not be the brain you thought it was.
