Both parties do this. I think it can get ridiculous. These days both parties are worried about being the ones with the "correct" answer to a problem... no one fixes the damn problem. Then again... I'm not doing anything about it... so I'll just sit here, enjoy my cold drink of choice and watch.
Some of the things democrats have done are calling republican candidates "Tax breaks for the rich," "Ultra-MAGA," "semi-fascist," or "extremist that threaten democracy" before any actual policies are discussed. Claiming election interference with no evidence at the time (not sure if there ended up being any for or against, but that was pre-demonization). Launching ads about potential candidates former companies targeting layoff, possible scandals sometimes even before the candidate announced running. (Probably the best example of pre-demonization). I'm saying both sides do it... you say false equivalency is ignorance... I say ignoring things because they don't promote your views is far worse and more dangerous along with being ignorant.
Talking about their support history of tax breaks for the rich, or being Ultra-MAGA (which is a history of absolute support for Trump as opposed to America) is not PRE-demonization and would be a stretch to call it DEMOLNIZING, when it's the truth. Multiple U.S. intelligence agencies said there was election interference. Trump's campaign manager had deep ties and constant communication with Russian leaders. Trump laundered money for Russian oligarchs. Period.
Being MAGA also tells me that you're okay with Trump's Epstein coverup, his stupid trade wars, the Iran war, destruction of alliances, fascists shooting Americans in the streets with no consequences, taking classified documents and storing them in Mar a Lago bathroooms, and Trump enriching himself AND his family to the tune of billions of dollars.
Name ONE thing Trump and the GOP have done in the past two years that has helped America.
First, it CAN be pre-demonization (because if you label a candidate as a Ultra-maga (or the other examples I provide) just because there is a letter R by the name, BEFORE and policies are discussed... that... is demonizing before hand (hence PRE-demonization). I'm pointing out what both sides are doing... and you asked what democrats have done. I provided examples... and now you're assuming I'm a MAGA supporter. Have you asked if I am? No. You're assuming that I am a Maga supporter (because I disagree with your statement that only one side does it). So, in a way... you are pre-demonizing me as a MAGA supporter, just because I disagreed that it's only one side doing. Personally, the last thing I think our federal government did close to good was in 1996 when they passed an actual budget. So yeah, it's been a while. Maybe that's why I can sit back, enjoy this crap-show and point out how both political parties are being horrible these days. But I'll give you credit. You're passionate. I applaud this. Go make changes. I'm good with just watching.
Apologies. I wasn't talking about YOU when I said "you." I meant candidates. I once ran for Congress. Lost in the primary. In the next cycle, a Dem won, so I was fine with that.
Dems have their problems (obviously), but have NEVER set out to hurt the average American like the GOP have. Examples are LEGION. If that's not enough of a difference for you, I don't know what I can say further.
It's all good. Just remember to pass on to others to keep an open mind. While I agree, there are people that will take advantage of others if they have a chance. All sides. There are people that will honestly belive they are helping others, and not be able to see that they are hurting more than they are helping. Humans are a messy bunch. Now as an example and looking at things with as little influence as one can, we can look at tpoic that i will be hinting at to avoid being flagged... when there are laws about people... moving. Do i think when things happen in the open (i hope you understand what i mean), it can end with sad results.Do I think that there should be something done, and better investigations, yes. But let's step back. Why are they there in the first place, and what type of locations? Most of the issues I've seen are in places that are also ignoring these... moving... laws. How you view that in general isn't the problem. It's that some are OK with ignoring those laws, and get frustrated when they start being enforced. Tensions rise, that can lead to unfortunate things. Again, I can understand someone's passion... but doing things in the open come with their risks. A better place to fight this if you disagree are in the courts. That also has its problems, but a safer place to do so. Now... you and I can disagree about what these... moving... laws are. Maybe with enough discussion, we could come up with a way for them to be better? Or at least solve some of the issues we are both concerned about. But, I also think places that ignore them are also not helping the situation. I have plenty of issues with these... moving... laws. I live in a boarder town... I've seen and heard good things, and bad things. A lot comes from misunderstandings. A lot comes from issues with the laws. Some, comes from the change of being lazy with the enforcement and then being strict and the other way around. My personal view is that if I like a law or not, I do my best to follow them while they are there. If I don't like a law enough, then I might try and do something about it... I would just prefer to do it in courts or maybe running for an office... maybe even get on a platform and speak out about it. A protest i probably wouldn't do, but that's more because in general, I don't like the idea that those have a higher potential of not going well. I wouldn't want others putting themselves in a position where harm could come to them because they happen to agree with my views. That being said, protesting can be a useful tool in bringing eyes to a problem, so I do understand them.
Also, you are right... I COULD do something by voting... but again I'll just enjoy discussing things on reddit and seeing the outcome rather than doing anything meaningful.
How old are you? Hillary was trying to get us universal healthcare back in the 1990s as First Lady. If you think she’s a monster you fell for propaganda.
We're talking about her positions from the 90's that she flipped on? I'm talking about everything she did a decade later as the third most powerful person in the executive, as secretary of state under Obama. Libya and Syria are direct results of her policies, decisions in which Obama stated she convinced him of. Its easy to pretend she wasnt a vile racist who furthered american imperial interest in the middle east, when you're a white person living in the west.
I remember it. The world would still be in a better place if she'd been president. Trump dropped more bombs in his first term than Obama did in two. And Obama dropped too many bombs. Some portion of the million that died of COVID would still be alive because someone competent was in charge. That's what's down your memory hole.
It’s so weird people want to act like she was some perfect angel and then have a list of things trumps did. News flash. They’re both fucking retards and terrible candidates
Nobody is, but it's massive cope at this point to pretend she wasn't the far superior option. Worst case with her is you get a continuation of Bill Clinton/Barrack Obama style Democrat politics. Nothing super progressive, some definite flaws, but generally a steady economy movement, some initiatives that help the middle class, etc. The worst thing would be that she would be about as hawkish as her husband and Obama, but after this Iran War, it's silly to even pretend at this point that the other guy was more peaceful. I can pretty guarantee a Democratic admin is not getting involved with Iran.
Wow. Were you alive when she ran for President? They didn't fear her, she was selling out access to the White House and sucking on BIG FINANCE's dollars for years before she ran. She is establishment. The establishment doesn't fear those it has already bought and raised.
Where did you even get establishment from? They meant MAGA who voted him. The people who ran months of “buttery male” smear ads against her.
Stuff like this is why I can’t take both sides people seriously… For some reason its hard for them fathom that people would rather have an established politician than a known criminal who is actively screwing the country right now. And then they act like their actions haven’t directly hurt us already.

She was right about everything that's why they vilified her so much, they feared her, so they had to destroy her.
