Bringing this over from the deleted post:
Probably a bit too low energy for a single (especially for a last single) but could work very well on the album.

I’ve never really seen a ‘lower energy’ single as a problem when bands release nearly half the album as singles lol
It’s a good move I think, trying to show that the album is going have dynamics. I figure that’s the rationale at least

It also makes sense to not frontload all the exciting stuff as singles.

For sure, I always remember hearing the rule of thumb was “always save the best songs for the album,” though bands don’t always do that lol

What single? Isn't this one of the song of the new album they are releasing soon?

A song released before the album comes out is called a single.

Thank you, didn't know that. I thought only one song albums are called singles

To explain a bit further, maybe that's interesting to you. Modern music distribution made it all a bit muddy.
Singles really started to be a thing in the vinyl days. Since full-sized vinyls obviously use quite a bit of material, someone came up with the ideas to create a new format. The normal LP usually held 20-22 minutes per side on 12'' vinyls. The single held about 3-6 per side on 7'' vinyls. If you read about older bands you might hear the terms "A-Side" and "B-Side". That was back when the main song was on the A-Side and the B-Side often had worse songs or covers. Sometimes, there were double singles with good songs on both sides.
In the past (as today) singles would sometimes be covers or one-off songs but I think the practice of putting album songs on them became the standard pretty quickly. Usually you released a couple of singles to hype the album, especially shorter and more mass friendly songs. Then, some time after the album release, you released some popular songs as singles.
Singles were used in jukeboxes and by radio stations but were obviously also sold. While the diameter difference doesn't seem huge, the round form means that it still came down to 70% less material, so singles were way cheaper than albums. All of this kinda ended with the CD. They tried to make single CDs a thing (that's why some cd drives for the PC has that slightly smaller recess), but the different production methods due to the CD being digital makes it pointless. Singles were released on normal CDs and lost some purpose. What really killed them in their old form was streaming and digital purchases.
Today, the practice of releasing singles still stands, and some even come out with "B-Sides" and/or on CD. But most singles are like this one, which is simply dropping a song on streaming with maybe a music video added. That's why we now have 5 "singles" for this album: no costs anymore.

Singles predate longer records, it was the first way of commercializing pre-recorded music ever since the phonograph.
The term "album" comes from collections of singles bundled up in photo album like folders, and when the long play vinyl records came around the term stuck.
We started with very short recording times on physical recording formats and got better quality and longer run times as technology developed, and culturally it's easy to argue the long play album didn't become the "unit" of popular music until the mid 60s.

Interesting, didn't know they were called singles back then. Seems more like a term invented as a differentiatior to LPs.

I distinctly remember movie theaters packaging single CDs in large drink lids around maybe 2002, it was a weird time.

I hate to keep being negative on GH posts but Sozos sounds so incredibly bored here

He said in an interview that this is the song he's most excited to sing live.

I like it a lot. Might be my favourite from the new singles, with Ultimate Sacrifice shortly behind on #2

Quite surprised by the reception of this. I like this song a lot. Probably more than the 1st and definitely more than the 3rd single they released
