PGP/signed off

I'm 32 weeks and struggling significantly with PGP, I'm trying to keep going as best I can, but each day gets harder. I am still working full time as a nurse and to be honest I don't know how much longer I can continue. My job is mostly office based with wards, clinics throughout the day.

I have been referred to physio and have an upcoming appointment.

I am consultant led and have an appointment soon. Do I mention to my consultant about being signed off? Is it reasonable to be signed off at this stage?

I'm feeling extremely guilty that I'm not working at 100% capacity and am even considering leaving work early.

If you can’t wait until your consultant appointment even go to the gp, I felt crap at about 32 weeks and my gp was ready to sign me off for the rest of the pregnancy when I asked for a few days off. Pregnancy is hard. Don’t feel guilty it’s almost expected you’ll finish up early

I had sciatica from 8 weeks and pgp at about 18 weeks. I really struggled with it and ended up getting signed off at 31 weeks. I am now 40 weeks and the pain is almost gone. The difference it makes for me not to be sitting at a desk all day is unbelievable. I would definitely recommend it if you can. I did the physio and water based physio classes and they were great. It was my GP that had to sign me off but I have only seem midwives so I'm not sure if it's different for me. I found myself hating being pregnant and constantly feeling down because I was in pain and being off has made such a difference to my mood too

I was signed off at 32 weeks because I was just wrecked at that stage, no PGP or anything which I’m sure is awful for you. And I was only working 4 days a week, 3 of which were at home. Go to your GP on Monday, they’ll sign you off.

I'm also a nurse, similar sounding job to yours and was signed off last week at 32 weeks! Don't feel guilty, you're growing a human!! Take the time, you need to rest. The last week has made the world of difference to my physical & mental health.
