Discussion/Tips & Tricks How to construct a lippie project pan?

So, I decided to do a project pan/play with my definitely more than 50 lip products. I do use lip products quite frequently, but the sheer number of them makes it hard to pan them. I am thinking of having a focus lip product of the week (likely a gloss) and then adding whatever I want for the day. My goal is not to empty all of them but more so just making sure I use everything. I am still not sure if this is the best approach tho, so I would appreciate some suggestions.

I’ve been doing capsule makeup sets every month (including lip liner, lipstick and gloss). Depending on how much you have and how often you want to switch things up, you could do something like that? Pick your items and say you’ll use them x amount of times a day for two weeks. Then switch to another. Sorry, after I typed this, I saw you basically were already thinking of doing that. I fully support that idea!

If I made myself finish one product before moving to the next, I would have a good number of products go bad before I could ever get to them. At least this way I got some good use out of the product before I have to toss it. I don’t really have anyone I can give my partially used makeup products to.

Sounds like a great way to start! You may also find that you like some more than others, as you test them all out

Thank you! I also feel the same, maybe I can do a project pan where I finish what I enjoy!

I have a similar amount. What I find helps is just making a graph of all your lip products, and marking them off whenever you use it. Once you get to a set number of uses (I do around 20-40), you have enough information about the shade/formula/finish to re-evaluate if it actually works for you, or if you're just holding on to it for the sake of it.

I find that if i'm struggling to even hit say 10 uses, or I always have to mix and match with different products to make it work, it's obviously not worth keeping and I consider just throwing/giving it away.

Lip of the week is a good shout - so is lip of the trip if you travel often. I know you mentioned you mostly have glosses, but if you have any lipstick, treat it as a multi-use product too (so like a cream blush). In my opinion glosses are so much harder to pan, and I've only done so once or twice in my whole life lol. Just keep reapplying throughout the day like a treatment, and you'll see some use.

Also maybe consider buying a spatula and palette? I find mixing different products on there really helpful. You use up a bit more product than usual, but also can play with different formulas and finishes to come up with new looks. Just makes the whole process a bit more fun!

Thank you so much! I do have quite a few lipsticks and I do agree panning them is easier! Ill check if any of them could work as a blush to pan it

Yeaaaaaah I don't think you're finishing 50 lip products before they go bad. I'd suggest selling or giving away unopened ones and monitor the smell of the rest of them. I like to pick one or two to use for a week and then I switch it up.

Yeah me too honestly, but I cannot sell anything used and my friends also overconsume a lot so my best option is using and enjoying them as much as I can. I also really love my collection so I am just thinking of how to enjoy it more.
