This subreddit is for sharing propaganda to view with objectivity. It is absolutely not for perpetuating the message of the propaganda. Here we should be conscientious and wary of manipulation/distortion/oversimplification (which the above likely has), not duped by it. "Don't be a sucker."

Stay on topic -- there are hundreds of other subreddits that are expressly dedicated to rehashing tired political arguments. No partisan bickering. No soapboxing. Take a chill pill. "Don't argue."

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Surprised to learn from a recruitment poster that we used to operate aircraft carriers, proper big boy fleet apparently

It's the Karel Doorman), an intermediate carrier. Bought from the British, sold to Argentina. I had never heard of it either. I suspect it's not talked about much because it's related to the West Guinea dispute and the unsavoury dutch attempts to cling to their colonies (I mean, that conflict doesn't even have a dutch wikipedia entry, which I find quite telling).

Andere Tijden has an episode about the carrier.

The dispute is quite extensively described in the Dutch Wikipedia page for West Guinea to be fair, though it should have its own page.
