Question Radiation and Lupron
Hey all, I’m 57 and I had a radical prostatectomy in November of 2021. Nothing has worked in terms of getting an erection except for Trimix and that was actually painful because I fear I have Peyronies. My wife has been very understanding and that part of our relationship has had to be cut back severely. Fast forward to May of this year and my PSA rose to a level where radiation was advised. I’ll be doing my final of thirty on 10/19. I’m not going to miss going to the hospital every weekday morning. 😆 I got the Lupron injection the day before I started treatment and those damn hot flashes started after about 3 weeks. Anyway my question is if anyone has had a similar history as I have is there any hope for “re-booting” the erections when I start to produce testosterone again. I’m guessing it’s a no as that’s what the Doctors have pretty much said. Thanks for taking your time to read this.

See if you can ask the doctors to switch you to Orgovyx. It is a pill, fast acting and daily use. It also leaves the body fastest when you stop, while Lupron can take a lot longer. Also more effective in bringing PSA down. You must exercise to mitigate the effects of ADT (either one) -Less hot flashes

I’m sorry you are going through this. I had a similar situation. In my opinion the Lupron and salvage radiation was harder on me than the surgery. Erections were starting to improve a year after surgery but the radiation really set me back. I am grateful for the treatment and if it stops the cancer cells then I consider it a huge win but the cost is high.
