  They are also superior to Emilia, who tends to fight without thinking and can reflexively react to surprise attacks. Fights at Garfiel’s level occur without delay between decision-making and action, since even the slightest delay can be exploited.

  They are comparable to Old Wilhelm, whose superhuman, god-like combat capabilities allowed him to avoid more than thirty invisible arms merely by observing their effects upon the environment. Julius could likewise dodge and block invisible attacks on instinct)

  Being afflicted by the projected concept causes the target’s body and soul to recall their own closest Memories in proximity to what Roy has projected, forcing them to re-experience associated sensations and trauma)

• Adaptation (Roy has stockpiled innumerable warriors within himself and can discard ineffective tactics immediately in favour of novel fighting styles, allowing him to adapt his strategy to his opponent and circumstances)

• Enhanced Analytical Prediction (Roy predicted when and where Petra would teleport her allies merely from the look in her eyes)

Unique Authority Techniques

• Eclipse Binaries: A novel evolution of Roy’s Authority of Gluttony that emerged after his body and mind were dominated by Reid Astrea’s soul.

  Rather than regarding any of his consumed lives as worthless, Roy blends together countless Memories belonging to one category and projects them upon everyone within range as an abstract concept.

  Those struck by the projected Memories do not simply witness Roy’s stored experiences. Instead, their own bodies and souls recall personal Memories corresponding to the concept Roy has imposed.

  When Roy projected Memories of Agony, the affected warriors re-experienced the pain and suffering contained within their own pasts. Past agony did not become more tolerable simply because it had already occurred; it remained equally unbearable when recalled in the present.

• Regurgitation: Roy can “vomit” Names and Memories that have been consumed through the Authority of Gluttony, reversing their erasure.

  This can be used offensively. By suddenly restoring information that an opponent had completely forgotten, Roy can overwhelm them with a sensation described as being a hundred times stronger than déjà vu, creating an opening in combat.

  Roy generally avoids using Regurgitation because any Name or Memory he releases is removed from his possession and can no longer be accessed through Eclipse.

Abilities Unique to Lye Batenkaitos

• Vibration Manipulation (Lye can produce destructive shock waves through his physical techniques)

• Transformation (By recreating Rem’s form through Solar Eclipse, Lye can manifest her Oni horn, which devours atmospheric mana and greatly amplifies his abilities. An Oni horn roughly doubles its user’s combat power)

• Bodily Weaponry (While transformed into an Oni, Lye possesses long and sharp nails comparable to the claws of Witchbeasts)

• Regeneration (High-Low; While the Oni horn is active, the body’s natural regeneration is greatly amplified, allowing recovery from injuries such as broken bones and heavily damaged internal organs)

• Additional Extrasensory Perception (While using an Oni body, Lye can sense mana and possesses a sixth sense that is acutely sensitive to changes in forests and mountains, as well as instincts that alert him to danger)

  This form possesses long, sharp nails comparable to the claws of Witchbeasts and greatly amplified natural regeneration. It also grants mana perception, a sixth sense acutely sensitive to changes in forests and mountains, and instincts that alert the user to danger.

• Composite Techniques: Lye is particularly proficient at rapidly switching between stolen techniques and combining otherwise unrelated abilities into new attacks. Through Eclipse, he has access to martial arts, swordsmanship, and countless other styles, including virtually every form of martial art contained within his stolen Memories.

He can combine these skills with Ice Brand Arts, which allows him to forge any weapon he imagines from ice, producing composite weapons and attacks that did not exist in the original users’ arsenals.

Has Lye actually ever used Rem's horn ever in a fight? Cause the way they talk about solar eclipse it just seems like they're transforming their bodies to fit the specs of the matching ability. He transforms into her but from what I remember it was just to taught Ram and to hurt her psychologically.

And if they could use the inbuilt ability of other races why don't they capitalize on that more? Especially after he learns to use solar eclipse properly.

Okay interesting, I took the time to try and find it the light novel and it is there, but one final question.

Does the horn actually do it's job or does it just exist to piss Ram off?

I'm reading the entire altercation and the entire time I'm not seeing a single mention of the fact Lye is draining the mana from the air and recovering his mana pool or whatever, the scene is instead mainly focusing on the psychological effect of what Lye's form is doing to Ram. Nor was their any mention of Ram "wrestling" control back over the ambient mana when she connects to Rem.

Sorry for all the questions, just want to be very thorough about this for a future post.

He immediately starts beating up Ram after that so I doubt they’d need to explain what it does again, they don’t do that every time the horn is used, and I’m not even sure Lye’s mana was drained much against Ram when he fought her, more so damage.

As for the Rem thing, I don’t think it’s mana more so a connection of souls through Synthnesia

I don't want to be difficult, but:

1. Two chapters before this scene in "mental death" Lye punched beat the shit out of Ram while just using Beli's form
2. If I was Tappei and wrote Gluttony transforming into a race we the readers know about, I'd probably make a show out of reexplaining the power and usage of a Oni's horn, and write about how the cast(or just Ram in this case) is suprised that Gluttony can also copy the racial abilities of those he ate, when they previously just believed it was the learned techniques. Plus Tappei isn't averse to restating the same thing he already said before in the story. Also it's been like actual years since we've seen a proper manifestation of a Oni's horn(by the time this chapter was released anyways) specifically 7 years regarding the webnovel.
3. Lye beating up Ram while using Rem's body is one due to the psychological effect, and also the fact Rem is physically stronger than Lye not counting any flow method differences due to being a Oni, having base Rem's body plus Lye's skill in both combat and flow method, would still lead to Ram being beaten up, even without the horn amp, especially if Beli's body also allowed Lye to hurt Ram
