I’m really frustrated and indignant about how Tappei sometimes treats us like we’re a bunch of dumb readers. Like, you can’t just make Subaru extremely observant whenever you want and then make him extremely oblivious at other times just to move the plot forward. Like, Tappei, show us some respect

Like, you’re telling me that Subaru, after literally hearing Priscilla talk about Subaru’s and Al’s Authorities before she vanished, and after noticing all the obvious hints about Al (his name, how the hell he survived Gladiator Island despite being from Earth, and the fact that he literally saw Al use his Domain in Chaosflame to “predict” Olbart’s attacks), didn’t even become suspicious of him? But then, out of nowhere, after arc 9, he suddenly knows that Aldebaran can use rbd too? Just because Al sealed Subaru? Like, come on, Tappei

So, my question is: how did Subaru figure out that Al has an authority similar to rbd after arc O?

It’s a big deal because Tappei could’ve given Subaru a proper reason to know that in the first place, like Petra telling him everything that happened while using her authority to expand time. But noooo! That sadistic shit refuses to give Subaru any buffs or information, even if doing so means compromising the quality of the writing and creates a lot of contradictions in the story.

ur right, and that's a problem with arc 9's end, which is imo exasperated by the "cor leones" vageu post, but I don't mind it that much(not the ending, but the fact he seemingly gets to know Aldebaran's ability with not much build up u can day). cuz subaru finally is going to ask questions.

Cor leonis gave him a connection outside, and multiple of his allies figured out Als authority

Literally no one figured out his authority until the end, when he tried to use it but Petra and Felix stopped him. And by that point, Subaru was already in the ball. Besides, Cor Leonis only gave Subaru an ambiguous sense of his allies’ locations, not their abilities—and Al wasn’t even his ally to begin with.

Cor leonis also let's him understand their thoughts and surroundings on a superficial level.

So if someone is thinking of how Al can return by death, Subaru will get like, dying=rewind time, do this for everyone and he can pretty easily piece together what the fuck is going on
