HELP ”Future prediction from 1999”

https://youtube.com/shorts/a5zb7q7DLLU?is=8gSl7LjDg0x9m4R9

This is fram a an account called beatsnblends. The other videos on that account doesn’t seem to be AI. What do you guys think? Obviously it is fiction and not from 1999. But is it a skit or is it AI?

Sentiment: 0% AI

Sentiment reasoning: The community largely believes the content is a real skit by Michael Spicer, with a source link provided. Commenters explain that elements like social media usage, emoticons, and ads were plausible in the 90s, and clips were edited in rather than AI-generated. One comment suggests it seems fake due to being too specific or accurate, and another guesses AI audio was used.

Quite obviously fake. It is way too specific on things like the name of things to be such a prediction. Kan unsure of the exact technology here, but my guess is that it is a video or image that has been modified with AI audio.

Sorry! That was unnecessary rude of me. Thank you for your input! I agree that it is clearly a skit and now I know for sure that it Isn’t AI as well.

It doesn't have to be AI to be a skit.

Of course not. Have I insinuated that?

Even in the 90s people were sharing cute cat videos. Yall acting like the internet didn't exist back then. People just shared them on forums instead of youtube and reddit.

Earliest recorded usage of "Social Media" has to be mid 90s; so even when this was filmed it was being used semi-regularly.

People were using emoticons :-) before emojis so that isn't such a stretch either.

As for the ads...capitalism gonna capitalism.

And emojis were a thing back then as well. There were just maybe a dozen total and all of them were the yellow face showing a different emotion

Are you saying that this is a real interview from 1999?

It's Michael Spicer, it's a skit. The clips of Jeremy Paxman are clearly edited in. Where is the AI?

Sentiment: 20% AI

Sentiment reasoning: One commenter suggested the video might have AI-modified audio because it was 'too specific' in its predictions. However, multiple other commenters identified the content as a known skit by Michael Spicer, with one explicitly asking 'Where is the AI?' and providing a source link. Another commenter stated it doesn't have to be AI to be a skit. One commenter found it fake due to being 'too accurate' but didn't mention AI. 5 comments were processed.
