Küng Classica great bass crook attachment
I have recently acquired a second Küng Classica great bass. It looks great and sounds superb, but it is essentially unplayable because the crook keeps falling off.
On my other the crook plugs in vertically to the cap at the top. Stable, adjustable by twisting it round the head joint, works well. On this one the crook plugs into the side of the head joint ...

and the plug has a couple of slanting detentes which engage with a pin across the socket.

Unfortunately the design of the detentes means that the slightest clockwise rotation of the crook pushes it out so the tapered connection no longer holds and the crook falls off. The only way I have found to stop this is to push the mouthpiece constantly upwards which playing, which is impracticably tiring. Grease on the plug makes things even worse.
Does anyone else here have one of these? I can't believe that Küng intended it to be like this, so I would like to know if mine has been altered, or if there is a known fix ... or of course if I am just missing something obvious.
On the upside, I think I know why it was cheap!

My Great Bass crook comes out the top. But I do have this problem with my Mollenhauer Denner Bass. Its crook was always falling out. I solved it by sticking a small piece of electrical tape around the crook which has made it a snug fit.
However the hole in my cap is just wood and there are no dents in my crook. In your case I would email Kung and ask them directly. I have heard that they are very helpful. Good luck!
