Added the last missing autograph to my fully signed Freaky Styley tonight. I guess it may be the most completed one now
I guess most people here don’t care much about band’s early stuff, but Freaky Styley was always my most favourite and made me a fan decades ago. Back in October 2016 I obtained a vinyl copy that previously belonged to the late Art Boerke - a club promoted. AK, Flea, Hillel & Cliff signed it for him in late November 1985. Was not too expensive btw.
Then I added in person George Clinton (producer) & Bennie Cowan (trumpet) in Amsterdam 2018 and Maceo Parker (saxophone) in Berlin 2018.
Fred Wesley who not only played trombone but was a key figure in arrangement writing all the horn parts, was the last missing active member with enormous contribution to the record. So having it close moneyed today is really interesting experience 10 years later (41 actually). Not sure if any other copies like this exist - the band played a show with George Clinton and Horny Horns once, but before the vinyl was released

Woah… I now need a Hillel Slovak auto in my collection.
That’s one of my favorite albums. This is so cool man.

The fact that you were able to track down each signature over the years and meet some of them directly makes this collection feel so personal and special, I love that you connected it to someone who was part of that early scene too.

Thank you so much! Freaky Styley is one of the albums that completely changed my life, so when I saw the band signed (including Slovak copy) for a nice price I didn’t think twice. The role of P-Funk in this record is super important & I always wanted to see them live, so that was a great chance to add everyone

What was the reaction from George, Maceo and Fred? Did they share any memories or thoughts on the album? Did they seem happy to see it?

George gave me a big hug. Maceo was very surprised and impressed, told everyone in his band about me. Fred was impressed and gave me a short interview. Bennie laughed a lot. Everyone seemed to be sentimental about FS sessions

That's nice to hear! Funkadelic is my favorite band ever and RHCP is one of the most important bands in my musical history (they basically created my taste in the mid 90s). I thought I had read somewhere that RHCP and George had a tough time making the album together so it's nice to hear that everyone involved has good feeling about it now.

Best I can do is $5... Jokes aside, that's awesome and probably the most unique signed item from the band out there.

Thank you so much! I obtained this one for about $250 or 300 in 2016. And I think it was the great price. Nowadays some collectors offered me impressive amounts for this one, but no, I will keep this one with me till the end of life (if everything will be ok).
Elton John signed The Getaway for me once, but the only Chili Pepper who signed me this record is Chad. Had it been signed by Josh, Flea, AK & Dangerous Mouse that would have been a unique thing too :D

Is that an Album of the Red Hot Chili peppers or is it a picture with all the band members?
