Reno relocation struggles
My daughter is a junior (transferred from an Arizona preparatory academy into a public charter school 30 mins away) and just went back to freshman year until she completes state testing and can take community college classes. She says there is a lot of gang activity we weren’t aware of. People think I’m strange because reading is a hobby. Women knowing a lot about football is very odd. The traffic is terrible (three minutes for every mile). I feel like this move was terrible, but it was necessary for our family income. Wages here are low for the cost of living. The two cars we bought from Corwin dealerships are currently in the shop less than a month after purchase. Our house had to have remediation and construction from day 3 of being here (two months ago). I’m trying to stay positive and keep busy, but this is awful. Does this get better? Or do I just hope for a work transfer to a different state?
Edit: My daughter is a junior taking senior classes and applying to community college through her high school. The courses she is taking in the high school are what her freshman classes were at her old school. Complaints used to be “this is too hard” and now are “I’m not challenged enough”. I am sorry I was not clear enough.
