Anime Retro anime discord looking for engaged members!

Hey everyone! the algo recommended me this sub, and I thought it might be a good place to try and get people involved with a retro anime community i've been trying to cultivate. The name of the server is 199X and its mostly dedicated to watching and organizing the links of retro anime that have been flooding youtube and archive.org in the past few years. The goal is to see if we can find hidden gems, and discuss. Im partial to the 90s and 80s anime aesthetic and try to seek out stuff from that era in particular. We have about 70 members so far, and everyone is very cool and chill (no politics talk, friendly discourse etc) but some ppl are very shy, and Im hoping to try and attract people who like to banter! here is the invite link: https://discord.gg/Skm9eTRPdu

I’m trying to track down all of the Shuto kōsoku toraiaru, those expressway films. They are next to impossible to find and I only want to watch for fun because I’m a car enthusiast. Anyone out there know where to find them aside from YouTube because that only seems to have one. Dub or sub it doesn’t really matter I wanna watch it.

Ikari Warriors, known as Ikari\a]) in Japan, is a 1986 run and gun video game developed and published by SNK for arcades. It was released in North America by Tradewest. Amongst the numerous Commando) clones on the market, Ikari Warriors was distinguished by its unique control style with rotary joysticks and a two-player cooperative mode.\13]) The rotary joystick controls were in turn based on SNK's earlier TNK III (1985). Ikari was originally intended to be an official licensed adaptation of the film Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), but SNK were initially unable to acquire the rights to the film.

The game was a major commercial success in arcades. It was Japan's second highest-grossing table arcade in 1986, and London's third highest-grossing arcade game that year. It was also a major breakthrough US release for SNK, ranking among America's top five highest-grossing dedicated arcade games for two years in a row, in 1986 and 1987.

Darius\a])#citenote-1) is a 1987 horizontally scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Taito for arcades. Players control a starship named the Silver Hawk in its mission to destroy the Belser empire before they wipe out the planet Darius. Its gameplay involves traversing through a series of scrolling levels while destroying enemies and collecting power-up icons. It is notable for its unique three-screen panoramic display.[\1])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darius(video_game)#cite_note-hardcore-2)

The game was designed by a small team of others led by Junji Yarita. In contrast to other similar games, which feature mechanical or insect-like enemies, Darius uses aquatic creatures like fish and crabs for its enemies and screen-filling bosses. Its large arcade cabinet, based on Taito's earlier panoramic display game Laser Grand Prix (1983), was designed to provide a cinematic atmosphere and stand out from other games at the time. The soundtrack was created by Taito's "house band" Zuntata, the majority being composed through a combination of FM synthesis and sampling.
