WirelessšŸ“± Cellular Apple Watch Issues - please help

Post image

I feel like I’m going crazy here!

I upgraded to the new Series 12 cellular Apple Watch after successfully using my Series 11 on the Rogers network.

Whenever I try activating the cellular on the 12, I get this error above.

I’ve tried calling in multiple times, spent hours on hold and I’m getting different answers every time from technical support…

Some say ā€œwait 24 hoursā€ - did that - or they blatantly have no clue how cellular Apple Watches work… I even tried going in person to a Rogers store and they said it was impossible on their end to help me…

Does anyone have any advice on here? I’m super desperate to get this resolved.

Thanks so much

Good luck.

I've had a Pixel Watch for two years that Rogers (who I got it from) could never connect to LTE.

Main reason why I left and went back to Telus.

Did you successfully add a Rogers eSIM?

The watch needs to be connected to a phone line. So one cellular device per phone line. I have the watch too and wanted to add a cellular iPad but was told I could only have one cellular device per phone line. I don’t know if that’s 100% true but that’s what I’ve been told. You can unlink your 11 and add your 12. You just can’t have both.

I’ve already factory reset & sold the Series 11 - the cellular plan was removed as well.

Weird. I’ve unlinked many Apple Watches and no problem. If you have an Apple Store near you I’d maybe try there. They also have access to your Roger’s account.

Are you doing it through the Apple Watch app? You need to add the cellular plan there

I had the same issue this week. Through the Rogers app, I reinstalled my iPhone e-sim and once that process was complete it reset my Apple Watch device limit.

Phone support and store support couldn’t help me so I tried that out, and it worked!

Make sure you don’t delete any of your sims before your new one is setup. They’ll send you a text to verify authenticity during the process.

Unfortunately the correct way to do this is to go to manage rogers account in the watch app WHILE the old watch is connected and remove it inside the rogers UI. Just unlinking it doesn’t actually remove the watch’s esim from Rogers’s side.

It’s a super dumb system and only rogers has this issue.

The way to fix this now that the watch is gone or has already been reset or the esim deleted is to talk to rogers support, ask them to ā€œunlink the watch from the watch lineā€ and then it’ll allow you to set it up again on the watch app and relink it to the new watch.

You will have to insist the rep to look up this info or ask level 2 support. I had this exact same issue and if you don’t insist they will tell you they can’t do anything or wait or go to the store, neither of those 3 will do anything.
