Doubt anyone alive still has knowledge about this, since it’s not 2009 anymore, but worth a try!

My original 1180 has been through some hard times (used in a smoky environment for years, then stored in a damp environment for a couple years).

Now the navigation buttons and wheel don’t respond. Machine turns on normally and play/stop work. So hard drive seems ok, sounds ok.

But I can’t choose any other song other than the current one (or tracks, or anything requiring navigation).

Just got a much cleaner, lightly used 1180. All controls work.

I want to put my old hard drive into the clean, working machine, preserving all data, and just use the clean machine as the new body. Is this as simple as it seems?

I know I wouldn’t initialize or format or anything. It seems like this would work?

But am I being too simplistic and this is actually not going to work?

Also, I would have a computer shop down the road do the swap and tell them not to initialize.

I am looking for the best and still affordable 303 synth I can get and the more I read online the more my opinion changes that's why I need someone to help me with choosing:

Tb-03 - In my opinion it sounds very similar to the original 303 but some people say it is not as punchy.

T-8 - It sounds great but I don't need the drum machine since I will connect it to my MPC live 2. That's why I wonder if there is anything better because, again some people were suggesting that this is currently the best sounding 303 clone, but I can hear some differences not in a good way.

Behringer Td3 / Td3 M-O - I don't have an opinion on those but I've heard the sound great and also that their build quality is not really good. Do you think it is worth it to sacrifice build quality for more controls(over the T-8)? Also somewhere I saw that their pitch is drifting and it's always out of tune. I wonder if that is true or not.

For now I'm more for the T-8 because I can buy it new from the store and not used as Tb-03, but I don't know if the lack of more controls will push me to buy another 303 clone in the future.

Roland VAD507 with the V51 module. I upgraded from the original TD27, which was great in its own right. Now it’s a beast. Much to learn. Such an inspiring kit to play.

How much factory presets do you have on a Zenology Pro key without purchassing more banks? And what instruments exactly? Do you have like a variety of e-pianos, grand pianos, guitars, bass, drums, strings, or just some random synths presets?

I did this acid jazzy jam on my xv5050 via Renoise a while ago.
I setup the sets using an old win2000 docker image but it was less than ideal.

The usb midi drivers were for an a200 pro? Basically, to get it to talk to the XV5050 on windows, it was an absolute nightmare.
But, as you can see the hardware itself sounds amazing. The actual synth engine inside the unit is superb too.

Has anyone done an open source AI usb driver and/or editor yet?

My FP-7, which is one of my most cherished possessions, suddenly lost sound from every 8th key; then, after a few weeks, all keys stopped communicating. I’m guessing it’s a circuit ribbon issue. Anyone have a place they would rec for an affordable repair in the NYC area? I’m in brooklyn but have access to a vehicle.

I ordered a part on the roland parts order request website, but that was when orders were frozen. it emailed me immediately and said they would unfreeze orders on october 1st. a few days ago they sent me a payment email, which i did, and i have received no more information. will they send me an email with the tracking number, or is there something different i need to do?

However after installing the latest drivers I could find on the roland website, no luck, it's not recognized *at all*.

Is there a way to get an old synth to comply ?
