Hello fellow people of the sub!
Yesterday I've received my long-awaited RED Trimui Brick! Being a shopping addict delicate connoisseur of various portable devices, I have ordered it 20 days ago and it finally arrived!
I've ordered it without SD card for two reasons: 1) I wanted to try "One SD Card To Rule Them All" approach since I already had Miyoo A30 with Spruce 4.5.4 installed. 2) Supplied SD cards are usually of poor quality and there is a price increase. Also, I had a spare SD card as well.
I've ordered the red one for an obvious reason - it has the best looks of them all! I am very tempted to decorate it with yellow stars/hammer and a sickle stickers but first I need to find these stickers, lol.
Trimui Brick is a jewel. The screen is crispy clear, the controls... I liked buttons, but d-pad feels like Retroid d-pad, I prefer how Anbernic and Miyoo feel. But it is only a preference, nothing more. D-pad is precise and feels really nice, I don't feel distracted or "repulsed" by how it feels.
As for Spruce, it was my CFW of choice for Miyoo a30, since... well... It was and still is the best CFW for that little piece of...joy. Wi-fi, scraping, retroachievements, themes, idk what else, I am not using all of its functions.
I have checked and the other option for Trimui Brick would be Knulli - I've tried it on my Powkiddy V90S and while it looks and feels decent, I didn't like it. There was no Retroarch entry in the Tools menu. Simple as this! I wanted to change some options and it turned out that those options were available through Knulli interface, not through Retroarch entry in Tools section - where I expected it to be as Rocknix afficionado. Rocknix is my first choice CFW btw, Spruce OS is second.
So, regarding the use of single SD card in multiple devices - it worked! Only thing that didnt work properly were my gameboy savestates - idk, because of different cores or something else, they were not loading at all, but actual in-game saves were there! It is simply amazing!
It really is great and I am going to retest this experience with Anbernic RG Cube XX which is expected to arrive end of this month - beginning of the next one.
After testing, I decided I am going to permit my spare SD card a permanent residence in Trimui Brick and installed Spruce OS there too - using their installer.
Now both of my "mini", sub-3.5", over 1.54", consoles - A30 and Brick are all spruced up, except for a decent case for the Trimui Brick, and I've just noticed while creating this post that I have not removed protective film from the Brick's screen! So it is going to be even crisper!
I'll conclude my excessively long speech by recommending both Trimui Brick and Spruce OS to everyone!
