Hello to all my friends in the Sadcommunity!
Have you ever wanted to send fanmail to Sadcat and I? Well, now you can! I got a PO Box so everybody could send a letter to Saddy if they'd like to. I hope to be able to feature some of the letters he receives on Fridays - I'd love to contribute to Free Post Friday too, and I figured fan mail would be a fun way to do so!
Information is below, let me know if you have any questions! :)

Hello SadFolks.
Unfortunately, it was lately brought to my attention that lately there have been numerous scam posts appearing throughout the sub asking for money.
From now on, any donation posts must be approved by the mods. If you see a suspicious post asking for money, REPORT it immediately. I'm sure most of you have good intentions, but unfortunately, there are and there always will be scam artist on the internet waiting for a more naive Redditor to fall into their trap.
All scam-like posts will be removed and accounts suspected of being scammers will be banned indefinitely. We at r/Sad_Cat do not support any form of defraudment.
Stay safe out there, and make sure to reach out if you see any suspicious activity on the subreddit.

Hello everyone! I have two major updates to share today, starting with some incredible news: Mandarin’s dental surgery yesterday went great! The vet ended up removing 7 bad teeth, and the total bill came to 3,810 RON (nearly $800 USD). $800 is such a massive, overwhelming amount of money for me, and I am so grateful thinking about how fortunate I am to have your support. I am beyond words, sincerely and deeply thankful to every single person who donated, shared, or sent kind thoughts. Without your extraordinary kindness, I seriously could never have made this surgery happen for him. Knowing that he won't have to live in pain anymore is the greatest gift, and I cannot thank you enough for saving my boy! 💜 He is recovering at home now, eating well, and slowly getting used to his newly healed mouth. We also did some blood tests which aren’t the best, but I think they will improve with fluids.
While focusing on Mandarin, 2 days ago I also found a young cat (around 6–8 months old) wandering near busy traffic and following people. I took her in and noticed she looked pregnant or nursing, so I spent days searching for kittens, but found none. She is completely calm indoors and shows no desire to go back outside. Today I took her to the vet, where they determined she either had a false pregnancy, had an abortion, or was separated from her kittens over a month ago. She is now on antibiotics, medication to reduce her swollen mammary glands, and pest treatments.
Her main issue right now is diarrhea and a weak appetite. I strongly suspect Giardia, but after paying for Mandarin's major procedure, I simply couldn't afford the diagnostic test today. I paid what I could, and it is genuinely sad seeing a cat who is still practically a baby herself go through so much already. And she’s not the only one…
Between Mandarin’s $800 surgery and this new rescue, my financial resources are completely drained. I need help covering her Giardia & FIV/FeLV tests, follow-up medications, and Mandarin would also need dental care products so we never end up in this situation again. Receipts from today's visit and Mandarin’s dental care are attached for full transparency. If you can donate even a small amount, or just boost and share this post, it would help so much. Thank you all for caring and being there for us!

He stays in this room while the contractors are here since they are in and out a lot. I tried to make some safe spaces so Sadcat could get as comfy as one can when a bathroom is being demolished down the hall.

Bubba has kindly asked me to share some important information with all of you.
Her winter coat has officially grown in for the season. She is xxxtra dummy thicc. So delightfully plump. Rotund beyond all reason. Truly the perfect specimen.
That is all. Have a great weekend SadFam 🫶🏻

My cat is suffering from severe, hidden dental pain that makes it difficult for him to eat or even drink water. Because he is also managing kidney disease, his inability to eat and drink properly puts his health in critical danger. His teeth look fine on the outside, but underneath the gums, he needs immediate professional care. He has been diagnosed with tooth resorption.
We have an upcoming appointment on the 15th of October at Qincy Vet in Bucharest, the only clinic specialized in veterinary dentistry in the area, so the prices are extremely high.
The main issue is the cost of the extractions, which is way too much for just one single tooth:
Anesthesia: 500 RON (105.00 USD)
Complete intraoral X-rays: 400 RON (84.00 USD)
Scaling (tartar removal): 500 RON (105.00 USD)
Surgical extractions: 375 RON (78.75 USD) per tooth with abscess / 250 RON (52.50 USD) per tooth (this adds up incredibly fast and is the biggest challenge for us)
Postoperative treatment: ~150 RON (~31.50 USD)
The total final cost will depend on his exact extractions and the intraoral evolution during surgery. While the clinic kindly agreed that if the final amount exceeds 3,500 RON (735.00 USD), we can pay it in 2 installments (the first on the day of the intervention and the second up to a month later), we still need help raising funds to cover these overwhelming bills.
Currently, I have managed to gather 905 RON (190.00 USD), but with the appointment coming up so soon on the 15th, we seriously need this money to make sure he gets the treatment he desperately needs.
Any contribution, kind thought, or share means the absolute world to us and helps give his kidneys a fighting chance. Thank you so much! 💜

The massive beanbag will be replaced with a bed that takes up much less space, but will still let saddy feel like a little kid in a King-sized bed.

Hello everyone,
I have some wonderful news about Aldo, the cat who officially beat diabetes (though he is still managing ongoing liver issues)!
We found a long-term foster home for him in Switzerland while he waits to find his forever family. His foster works with a trusted local rescue organization that specializes in placing cats in permanent Swiss homes.
The laws regarding animal welfare in Switzerland are exceptionally strict, and his foster even has a cat who looks just like him. I know he will be in great hands.
To get Aldo safely across borders and onto his flight, we need to complete his official travel requirements:
Airline Cargo/Travel Fee: 90 CHF (~$108 USD)
Rabies Vaccine: ~$20 USD
Microchip & Passport: ~$60 USD combined
As you can see, covering the flight booking fee is our biggest issue right now.
Any small contribution, share, or word of encouragement helps get Aldo one step closer to his safe new beginning. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for believing in him! 🐾
(Attached you also have his latest blood tests)

I just realized I should try turning the heat option on for him next time he's on it. I bet he would like that.

This surprised me as he has never messed with the plants before. I found a piece of the aloe plant on the floor, so we are moving it out of Saddy's reach. :(

Poor White Cat; he has no feets.
(Note: This is White Cat, not Sadcat! They just have a lot in common. Like being cats. Who are white.)
