Hi - I'm the lead mod here: Who want's to take over?
I will be honest, this community was created yonks ago and I completely forgot about it. I no longer use Reddit in a meaningful enough way (nor do I have the time) to curate this place.
This place does have a lot of potential and I am AMAZED at how active it is still. I just checked this place in the first time (in probably) 5 years and was stunned to discover people are actively using it. I kinda feel bad about that. Sorry all!
So, I'm looking for someone to take the helm away from me and make it into something worth while.
Does this sound like you? If so, reply to this thread with the following:
- Your reddit moderation experience (subreddits etc.)
- Why you think you'd be a great fit, and a bit about yourself!
- A suggestion for improvement here that you can implement/enforce
- A link to your fav sample/sample pack (free or paid - can be something you've made yourself). Honestly this question will have no bearing on your application I'm always looking out for cool stuff.
- Timezone
- Realistic availability (Not looking for this subreddit to be modded 24/7, but an idea of how active you are on reddit would be good).
Ideally I'm looking for those who are musicians and are already associated with music production subreddits in a mod position. I'll also accept those who're moderators on music/audio forums on external sites.
To make everyone's lives a lot easier and to avoid headaches, please do not apply if you are under the age of 18.
I'll be (for now) looking for 4 people. 1 to be the head (the person with the most experience), and 3 others.
After I've selected those, I'll un-mod myself and let the new team take over.
Additionally, please do not DM me. I do not check them and they're constantly flooded by spambots (no I do not viagra or free shit good god). If you got a question, reply to my comment below!
Cheers, and sorry I went out for cigarettes and only just came back.
- sc.Dave!
ps here's the obligatory link to check out my soundcloud

Good place for user uploaded vocal samples?
Any recommendations for sites that have user uploaded vocal samples, similar to what's found on Looperman?
Vocal packs from places like Splice are good for high quality samples, but I find that the lyrics there are very bereft of meaning. By that I mean everything is a variation of lyrics like "Tonight's the night" or "Fall in love with you", things like that.
What I like about user uploaded vocals is the that users will upload tracks with comments like "I was pissed off tonight so I wrote this" and the lyrics come off as a lot more genuine.
Checking to see if anyone knows anywhere else where people upload their own vocals in a similar way. They don't necessarily have to be pissed off. Thanks!

Fazers sample oficiall found!!
I couldn't believe it with my own ears...there it was. The unmistakable chords.
Go to 1:31
A mystery of that took 23 years, 3 months, and 29 days to be revealed. And probably the last main sample of MF DOOM that was unknown. To me, one of, if not, the GREATEST samples in hip hop / rap history.
The Musikos Music Library was active between 1990 and 1992 as a stock or library music for products, enhance business presentations, etc...
This also means that the 1970s porn lead was actually just MF messing with us... What a villain!
EDIT: with my excitement I made a typo ...I meant OFFICIALLY found.
EDIT 2: All credit to YouTube user @sdbsdb-me7pn who is NOT the person who uploaded the video today, who has an INCREDIBLE rare collection of music in his YouTube as he should be officially the person credited for the discovery.
He simply made a cryptic comment in my YouTube just saying "Musikos Music Library - 254-5", but that prompted me to investigate further and download the full music library album from the Library Music Themes music forum. And holy shit was he right...it WAS the sample.
https://www.youtube.com/@sdbsdb-me7pn
EDIT 3: The full collection was assembled and uploaded to the Library Music Themes online music forum by GodzFire in January 2026 "as to not be lost to time".
In his post GodzFire said:
Collection of all known available music 25 albums from Musikos, the now defunct North Carolina-based production music library founded in 1990, published in Charlotte, NC.
A majority of the music was made by Neil Davenport, with some tracks made by Steve Dimond, Jamie Hoover, and William 'Bill' Soden.
The Musikos Music Library lasted until 1992 and was succeeded by the Davenport Music Library in 1993, with some of the Musikos Music Library tracks being carried over, but many not, including most of the William Soden Sports selections.

FAZERS SAMPLE OFFICIALLY FOUND!!
youtu.beFrom this obscure music library that ran throughout the 90s! Although this is the origin of the song, it could have been sampled by mf doom from a 2nd hand source (🤠) I can’t believe the day has finally come, and credit to op in the mf doom sub for finding this!!

I'm working on a project and I've been trying to find the source of this after the first chorus. He's doing a chirp with the crossfader the cut the sound in, I couldn't tell if It's just a keyboard stab or record sample. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Super obscure 70s private press-y male stoner country
voca.roUploaded a vocaroo of the audio. About 1 min of it.
Distinct lyrics at the end: "When i said goodbye, you were so sad that I wanted to cry, now you say goodbye, baby I feel so sad..." Taken from "Suchtig Skit" by DerRalle, the delay effect at the end is not from the sample and is from Suchtig Skit. I know a couple of songs that have this as the sample but no clue of the original. This is the clearest and least edited version i know of.
If anyone has a lead or any help it would be much appreciated

Does anyone knows what's the sample of this track?
Hello, first of all, while listening to Gary Jules' song "Mad World," I came across an artist named Donnie Darko, who also had a song called "Mad Worlds." While listening to his other songs, I came across this track,
"The Art of Living,"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2d2q8wJcH0
Also i checked whosampled.com but i didn't find anything than other tracks.
I think the beat maker is DJ Sutter Kain. I'm trying to find out where the sample in "The Art of Living" came from and what the original is. I would appreciate your help.

Does anyone know where the piano is sampled from in "hkmori - panic attack in bed" , i'm genuinely in love with songs that sound in such a melancholic way.

Help with sound..?
Not sure if this is allowed, but can someone please help me out? There‘s a radar/sonar beep sound I’ve heard before, and it playing in this Iron Lung animation.
Timestamps for ease of finding the sound I’m looking for:
https://youtu.be/EZwvR5EP5y0?list=TLPQMTMxMDIwMjarNU13-JjgPw&t=185
https://youtu.be/EZwvR5EP5y0?list=TLPQMTMxMDIwMjarNU13-JjgPw&t=244
I found this video on youtube while watching Iron Lung stuff, and the animator used the sound as the proximity alert for the SM-13.
as far as I can remember, the sound in the video sounds slightly edited with an echo effect that’s more noticeable in the second timestamp. However,I’ve tried finding it myself already, but it’s so long since I’ve last heard it online, that I don’t remember the site it came from, or what the name of the sound was, and I looked for the close end of an hour or 2 to look for it, only to get nothing.
any help is appreciated! I just want to know the name of the sound, and the link to the sound.
