This morning, Oct 17th 2026 at about 0815, I arrived for an event at RoadRunner Sports in Hamilton Shopping Center and parked in front of B12 Love and See's Candies.
The event was from 0800 to 1000, promoting running shoes that participants got to try on, take for a run and after the run enjoy beverages and prizes.
As I made my way from my car to sign in at the event, I heard a sound and turned to see that a female from a white 2018 Honda Accord (CA: 9TXN993) parked next to me had opened their car door and slammed it into the side of my vehicle.
I took pictures of them, quickly signed in and went back to my vehicle. They were still leaning on their door which was pressed into the side of my car. I told her that she hit my car, she said she was sorry and only then did she move her door off my car, but the damage was done. I went back into RRS to change into the new shoes for the run, came back to leave my shoes in my car and take more photos. The white Honda Accord was still running and I tapped on the window. A different female rolled down the window. I asked her if she was the owner of the car and she denied it. I told her the car is running and it looks like she has the keys so it's either her or the other female and she tried to play dumb. I asked her where the other female was and she pointed at House of Bagels and said she didn't know. I told her I needed insurance information because they've dented my car and she said she won't provide that. I told her she should get a hold of the other person then or I would start making calls and she said "Call whoever you need to call" and rolled up her window.
I called non-emergency 911. While I was on the phone with dispatch reading the license plate number, she got out of the car, locked it and walked toward RRS, confirming that she and her friend were there for the same event, and the run was about to start. Dispatch said it would take a while for an officer to get there so I waited. The organizers for the event started taking everyone to the side-walk to begin the run but I didn't go with the group and waited. The female who had the keys to the car, came back to her car, took pictures of the damage to the side of my car and nonchalantly walked off to join the group on the run.
When the officer got to the parking lot, they verified my information, ran her license plates to get her information and tried to call her to come back to the parking lot. She ignored their calls so the officer went to RRS to confirm how long the run was going to take and see if their cameras captured the parking lot as well. She eventually came back and completely changed her demeanor for the officer. She admitted that she was the owner of the car and tried to say that her friend did it but she didn't see it. Then she tried to say that the dent to my car did not exactly line up with her door, knowing that she had moved her car and the proof of that would be on the businesses security cameras. The officer could not make her give me her insurance and since she did not drive the car away, it was not classified as a hit and run. Also because B12 Love wasn't yet open the officer couldn't confirm with their cameras that this liar had indeed moved her car but the dent was on the same height as her car door.
Posting this as a warning to everyone in the area and the running community.
