SAT results will start coming out Friday, October 16th around 07:00 in the morning Eastern (U.S.) time, but they won't all be released at once. Most people will probably have them by the end of the day Saturday, October 17th, but a few people will get them later. Note: this is before the final registration date for the November SAT (Oct. 23, 2026), but ask around if those test dates fill up in your local area if you're on the fence.

VOCABULARY

What vocabulary words were hard?

Every test day I collect all the hard vocabulary and give definitions. They should be at the top of every test day discussion. Tell me all the hard vocabulary words and I'll give you definitions! These aren't the right or wrong answers, they're just hard words.

  • veneration — deep respect or admiration; it can border or worship. "The ancient poet was treated with great veneration by later generations." "The monument reflects the community’s veneration of its founders."
  • admonitions (verb form: admonish)— warnings or firm advice about how to behave. "Despite his parents’ admonitions, he continued to drive too fast." "The coach’s admonished the teamwork for its sloppy defense."
  • obfuscation — the act of making something unclear or difficult to understand. "The confusing language seemed designed to create obfuscation rather than clarity." "Critics accused the company of using technical jargon as a form of obfuscation." When I was in high school, my buddy Kat had a t-shirt that just said Eschew Obfuscation.
  • exonerations (verb form: exonerate)— official findings that people are not responsible or guilty, proving innocent. "New DNA evidence and tireless work by the Innocence Project led to several exonerations, including of people stuck on death row." "The investigation exonerated two wrongly accused employees."
  • parameters — limits, rules, or conditions that shape something. "The teacher established clear parameters for the assignment." "Researchers changed several parameters of the experiment."
  • anomalies (adjective form: anomalous) — things that are unusual or different from what is expected. "Scientists were baffled by their anomalous results." "The unusually high temperature was one of several weather anomalies that year."
  • optimization — the process of making something as effective or efficient as possible. "The engineers optimized the factory’s production process." "Route optimization helped the company reduce delivery times."
  • predictions — statements about what is expected to happen in the future. "The economist predicted that the A.I. bubble will slowly deflate rather than pop." "Scientists compared the model’s predictions with actual results."
  • isolating — separating something from other things in order to examine or control it (science), making you feel lonely (life). "By isolating one variable, the researchers could measure its effect more accurately." "Many find high school to be a difficult and isolating time, but many more make life-long friends in college."
  • regulate — to control something through rules or adjustments. "The government regulates the safety of medicines." "Snoop Dog and Warren G had to regulate."
  • innovate (noun form: innovation; adjective form: innovative) — to introduce new ideas, methods, or products. "Companies must remain innovative if they want to remain competitive." "The engineers continued to innovate rather than rely on older designs."
  • sufficient (verb form: suffice)— enough for a particular purpose. "There was sufficient evidence to continue the investigation." "One hour should be sufficient to finish the assignment."
  • austere — plain and without comfort or decoration or luxury; also strict or severe; same as spartan, stark. "The monastery’s rooms were austere, with only a bed and a wooden table." "The country adopted austere spending policies during the financial crisis."
  • skeptically — in a way that shows doubt or disbelief. "She looked skeptically at the extraordinary claim." "The committee responded skeptically to his explanation."
  • satiate — to completely satisfy a desire or appetite. "The large meal was enough to satiate his hunger." "Reading one article did little to satiate her curiosity about the subject."
  • interplay — the way two or more things affect each other. "The disease results from a complex interplay between genes and environment." "The novel explores the interplay between wealth and political power."
  • throughput — the amount of work, material, or data processed in a given period. "The new equipment increased the factory’s throughput." "Engineers upgraded the network to increase data throughput."
  • abstain — chose not to do or take part in something. "Three members abstained from voting on the proposal." "She abstained from eating sweets during the month."
  • incipient — just beginning to develop or appear. "The doctor detected signs of an incipient infection." "The government tried to control the incipient rebellion before it spread." Elif Shafak has a book called The Saint of Incipient Insanities. It's alright.
  • deviate (adjective: deviant) — to move away from an expected path, rule, or standard. "The plane deviated from its planned route because of the storm." "Homosexuality was once considered a deviant sexual practice, but today in much of the Western world it's generally seen as fairly normal."
  • ambivalent — having mixed or conflicting feelings about something. "She felt ambivalent about moving abroad because she was excited but also nervous." "He remained ambivalent about the proposal, seeing both benefits and risks."
    • ambiguous — unclear because it can have more than one meaning. "The instructions were ambiguous, so several students misunderstood them." "His ambiguous answer made it difficult to tell what he really believed."
    • ambi—this bi is two like bisexual or bicycle. Ambidextrous is you can write with both hands (so you're not lefty or righty).
  • attenuate — to weakene or reduce in strength or intensity. "The signal became attenuated as it traveled farther from the transmitter." "After several weeks, her anxiety had become noticeably attenuated."
  • impede (noun: impediment)— to block, slow down, or make something more difficult. "Heavy traffic impeded the ambulance’s progress." "A lack of funding be an impediment to further research."

is this the best case or the worst case scenario? score calculators tend to show different results each time

1

u/Legitimate-Sun8888 1d ago

It really depends on which question you got wrong on. If you get wrong on easy question, a ton of score will be deducted and if you get wrong on hard ones, you lose a little points

2

u/Ok-Cardiologist-7579 1d ago

okay thank you very much

1

u/Legitimate-Sun8888 1d ago

Dw your score seems good. I wish i had ur english skill lol

2

u/Ok-Cardiologist-7579 1d ago

To be honest despite being an international student I mostly learnt it through movies and games, the challenging parts were verbs in context questions which you just need to memorise as much as you can

1

u/Ok-Cardiologist-7579 1d ago

for text questions just try to simplify every sentence to a few simple words and finally simplify the text to 4 words then choose the answer matching 2 of these words the most

Guys! I need help. I gave for first time on Oct 3 this year. I guessed 4 questions total overall. 1 in English and 3 in module 2 of math. I am really scared. And I found rest all easy questions. In math, for both the modules the starting questions were straightforward. Did I mess up. All questions were medium to somewhat hard at the end but really straightforward in the beginning 2 questions.

1

u/Wild_Caramel9314 3d ago

And what predicted scores can I get? Can anybody help?

1

HELP, do u think i got the hard mod 2 for english with the invisible supergirl... (exoneration was an answer choice) question. I dont really remember anything else besides that and the Dispel sloth answer question.

Is it possible for me to get the hard module 2 with these questions?

1

u/Routine_Curve_8076 1460 10d ago

Did anyone get a question about sleeping pill? No graph, no gamer, no bear. Just the pill

1

u/burnerloevchina 8d ago

Yes, I got it, and I'm pretty sure it was on hard math module 2. Me and my friend debated if the answer was Groups were given different pills, or The scientist measured sleep quality before. Really hoping this is experimental as I've never seen a math question without a single number/variable inside

1

u/Routine_Curve_8076 1460 8d ago

Fr, math questions with long paragraphs are mostly “what is the biggest group that this experiment can be applied to?”. I have never seen this type before. Gotta be experimental

1

u/Fun_Charity1432 11d ago

Is it possible to get 730 reading guys 😭 26/27 wrong mod 1 on a main idea question. 22/27 wrong on mod 2. Got wrong on 1 hard vocab, 1 grammar, and the rest the super hard passages.

1

u/soohrina 11d ago

yes 🥹🥹 i did

1

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 12d ago

was there a question on the volume of a pyramid

1

u/_X1N_ 12d ago

yes i got something like that! I got a right rectangular base pyamid with measurements 27,5,7 and i swear it asked for volume but im hearing so many people talk abt surface area so idk if i got a diff question or if i read it wrong

1

u/Particular-Owl2759 12d ago

I think I got that as one of the last questions for math m2. I remember it being like given the surface area of two similar right rectangular pyramids and the volume of one of the pyramids, asking for the volume of the other pyramid? surface area ratio is 25 so volume ratio is 125 I believe?

1

u/jwmathtutoring Tutor 10d ago

Are you sure it was rectangular pyramids and not rectangular prisms (ie boxes)?

1

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 12d ago

rectangular pyramid

1

u/Lanky_Success_4225 12d ago

Guys I’m not sure if I got the easy or hard module for the RW. I got few questions to do with the graphs and note taking. I also got questions to do with sinkholes, red color, tribal business and more.

1

u/kri77sz 7d ago

What do you usually get on English section

1

u/Lanky_Success_4225 7d ago

It’s my first one so I’m not sure. In the practice test I get around 670-690

0

u/kri77sz 7d ago

I think we got the hard one then, I had the same module 2. It seemed fairly easy though I agree!

1

u/Lanky_Success_4225 5d ago

That’s great, did you have the hard vocab questions? E.g: Obfuscate & Admonition

1

u/kri77sz 4d ago

Yes, and also had an arbitrary word in the vocab. Had the horse rider question and the ones you listed. I did international sat though

1

u/Lanky_Success_4225 2d ago

Yea same, I took the international sat as well. Hope you do great!

1

u/kri77sz 1d ago

Dude we got easy

1

u/kri77sz 2d ago

Благодаря ти!

1

u/Boring-Ad-9243 12d ago

Hi, I’m currently studying for the SAT test that will take place on November 7th… How accurate do you think the practice tests are compared to the real thing?Plus do you know any other materials i can go through other than the college board tests?

2

u/Training_Complex_919 12d ago

The bluebook tests are easier, you should use the official question bank. Oh and aniko for math is a good side recource, helps you to be ready for hardest questions, don't rely on it too much tho

1

u/Subject-Ad-1106 12d ago

They aint good predictors better is taking some other tests or making ur own hard version using claude for english.

1

u/Advanced-House-8112 12d ago

Check out the college board question bank! I even once encountered a question with the same values and everything on the march SAT!

3

u/_X1N_ 12d ago

Does anyone know what questions indicate the harder math m2? Because i got the p/1000, 59rs with not enough info, the gamers question, and something involving the speed of light

But i think i also got volume of a right rectangle base pyramid with literally all the info (27, 5,7 were the numbers, btw did anyone get this question i keep hearing surface area and im not sure if i read the question wrong or what but i remember calculating volume), a 45 45 90 triangle with the hypotenuse 39 and asking sin A (where A was 45), and some right square prism asking the edge of the base

No idea if i got the easy or hard m2, felt easier than usual to me

1

u/No_Opinion_4735 12d ago

I had the same question about the pyramid one cuz I remember solving for volume but everyone keeps mentioning surface area

1

u/_X1N_ 12d ago

RIGHT since everyone is talking abt surface area i got scared i didnt read the question properly

1

u/No_Opinion_4735 12d ago

I got those exact questions. I'm pretty sure it was the harder math module

1

u/_X1N_ 12d ago

Phew, thanks!!

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 12d ago

What did everyone answer for the poet question? where it was about the poet in text2 liking to be in solitude or crowds

1

u/burnerloevchina 8d ago

the answer was D i think, the one with him being not present

1

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 8d ago

so is he in solitude or actually in a crowd haha

1

u/burnerloevchina 8d ago

in a crowd but like a spectator i think

1

Anyone remember the options to the question about 2 sites, 1 being for habitation and the other for something else or something along those lines?

And also the character who wanted to destroy something but ended up making something that would ridicule people making environmentally unfriendly purchases

1

u/Time_Message_612 12d ago

yeah I know the second oneee what was ur answer??

It illustrates something which relates to the phenomenon later mentioned in the text- this is what I put im not sure if its correct

1

u/_X1N_ 12d ago

I put the option about the character turning sincere to cynical but i feel like im probably wrong lol  I cant remember the rest of the options nor the text so im not sure 😢😢 had no time to check my ans either

1

u/Time_Message_612 12d ago

yeahh i remember that option but i think thats wrong as well because she wasnt sincere before. I dont remember the other options eitherrr, this question was harddd.

1

u/Time_Message_612 12d ago

anyone else remember this question?

1

u/Time_Message_612 12d ago

does anyone remember this question in module 2 reading and writing:

it had an answer choice that had something along the lines of "It illustrates something which relates to the phenomenon later mentioned in the text"

the illustratuiion that someone made a website or app for some company which she before wanted to destroy because it was monopolistic or something. WHAT WAS THE ANSWER

1

u/Warm_Cycle2418 12d ago

There was a math question where the randomly chose gamers from 3 countries , and what will stop from making the results generalised . What was it answer I chose small sample cuz I saw randomly chosen from the given three countries

1

u/jwmathtutoring Tutor 10d ago

It's the "not randomly selected from all gamers" answer choice.

2

u/MariaFeGP_14 1520 12d ago

I think it was that they weren't randomly selected form all gamers

1

u/2dand 12d ago

i answered not random bc gamers could be anywhere not specific to those 3 countries. im not sure tho.

I would argue that there isnt a specific quantity of people you have to include in your research to make it valid (min 200, else its invalid or something) and why small sample isnt right.

-1

u/Obvious_Painting8175 12d ago

What do y’all think the experimental questions are because if those questions are experimental and I get em wrong, I would def be levitating.

1

u/CupAffectionate8703 12d ago

did anyone get a question where it was like a quadrilateral PQRS inside of a circle and it gave like the perimeter of it and gave you radius aswell told you to find something like the tangent i dont even remember lol i just know i got it wrong

1

u/yanayanayanaburner 6d ago

i think pythagorean worked for that since diameter (hypotenuse) = 2r i actually forgot

2

1

u/Glum-Manufacturer193 1d ago

Yea i got same make sense

2

u/jwmathtutoring Tutor 10d ago

It's the "not randomly selected from all gamers" answer choice.

1

u/No-Needleworker797 13d ago

I did I dont rmb my answer tho can you remind me the answer choices

1

u/LibraryTraining3872 12d ago

The question asked something like which answer choice would make it so that the data was not usable for all gamers. I think the answer choices were like: If it wasn't random, If the population was small, they didn't use equal amount of people from each country, and then something else

1

Was fossils vocab isolating or obscuring?

1

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 13d ago

Isolating

1

u/Flaky-Captain8298 13d ago

Are you sure?

1

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 13d ago

I’m not entirely sure but for the question I saw it’s isolating 100% sure, not sure if there are other variants tho

1

u/Flaky-Captain8298 13d ago

I picked that but people are telling me obscuring for the fossils

1

u/ConcentrateAny1693 12d ago

I thought it was obscuring how is it isolat8ng

it was :p=59ab

1

u/jwmathtutoring Tutor 10d ago

No, it's cannot be determined.

1

u/Lost-Tomatillo-8367 10d ago

can you fully remembber the question, though ? If you do i could show you that's correct

1

u/Altruistic_Yam8126 12d ago

I think one of it was a variable which we couldn’t determine so we cannot determine equalities

1

u/Altruistic_Yam8126 10d ago

Because there are three variables and the options only had 2 , they said the third variable is also a positive constant , therefore if the third variable is 1 its the = option but you cannot determine a’s value , therefore it cannot be determined , i had it in variables p r s but you get the point

1

u/daddyhaslonglegs7 12d ago

I went for p=59ab

4

u/-PhysiX7- 1510 13d ago

Cannot be determined; I got it wrong, hopefully it’s experimental

1

u/Major_Laugh_9731 12d ago

was it one of gthe last 2 questions tho i dont rlly remember well if it was last 2 it cant be experimental unfortunately

Was fossils vocab isolating or obscuring?

1

u/Particular_Camp_8145 13d ago

I picked obscuring, I think isolating was related to a different problem about electrictiy or something

Does anyone know the answer of steppe theory question where a prominent theory is compared with a new one?

1

u/NovelDowntown8828 1520 12d ago

do u remember the options?

1

u/LawyerSmall7052 12d ago

It was either the redearchers used an innovative method or the researchers had a significant finding that also had the spread of europe in common smthng etc

1

u/NovelDowntown8828 1520 12d ago

ahh yes, i chose the option that said their findings were inconsistent with the hypothesis but they did give the indo sumth importance

1

u/LawyerSmall7052 12d ago

Yeah me too

1

u/NovelDowntown8828 1520 12d ago

i think we chose the correct option, not sure though. what do you think?

1

u/LawyerSmall7052 12d ago

Ig so. Although the passage suggested that the method was a new one it did not state anything that the researchers were "innovative" so I suppose that answer was wrong.

u/Round_Height_4896 13d ago

where did everyone feel the struggle was on english harder module 2? was it the longer questions, vocab, graph, paragraph, punctuation? Me personally I blanked on the longer questions and couldn't even understand them when I was trying to read them, and I also know for a fact I got one wrong on the vocab question. I had to end up guessing a few so I want to see what the curve will be like on my score.

1

u/Salty_Text_510 13d ago

It was just how hard the vocabs was that took alot of my time i cant do the passages efficiently..

1

u/Round_Height_4896 13d ago

so are u saying the passages were difficult because of the vocab within the passage or the vocab questions were difficult.

1

u/Middle-Finding-4176 13d ago

Does anyone know what the answer to that vocab one with parameters and optimization as 2 of the options?

1

u/ellybhlt 13d ago

parameters
