I know I already added the "spoiler" flair tag but just to emphasize it.... DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED ALL THE EPISODES OF SENSE8 YET, SPOILERS AHEAD!... Sorry for the big bold capital letters but honestly I loved this series and I'd hate to be the person who spoils it for someone who hasn't watched it yet

(really wish Netflix hadn't cancelled it but I'm happy there was at least an extra long "wrap things up" final episode - honestly it was so well done despite the "we're rushing things along" feel to it that I think some viewers who didn't know about the cancellation might think the whole thing was planned to be two seasons long! Still, I'm sure I speak for everyone in this part of reddit when I say I would have loved to see more seasons of Sense8)

In the final episode of the series we see Lito freaking out over being gone right after being tapped to play a lead role in a big Hollywood movie ... and yes I know I know, Wolfgang needs him and the other sense8's , Will reminds Lito and Kala of this (Kala is also freaking out over the possible danger her family is in)...

Having said that as someone who was rooting for Lito and who was horrified to see Lito's career go down in flames (in Mexico at least) over bigotry and homophobia, I would have loved to see Lito go on to be a Hollywood star... I do get that with the series being cancelled they wouldn't have been able to include all the major "what happened next?" details but when Lito is frantically asking Daniela what's going on with Lito's big Hollywood break as Daniela is doing her best over the phone to help Lito hang onto that role in the (Hollywood) movie and Daniela makes that face at Lito in response to Lito's question.. for us folks who want to see nothing but good things happen to Lito (and heck the rest of the Sense8's and their loved ones for that matter) it's not reassuring!

Assuming there wasn't something I missed in the series finale regarding this, has anyone involved with the production/making of Sense8 (actors, writer/creators Lana and Lilly Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski, others involved in the show) said anything about what happened with Lito's Hollywood break? Failing that anyone have any head cannon as to what they think happened?

So the show never went into the ins and outs of birthing a new cluster, but if Whispers wanted to achieve immortality by body-sharing indefinitely, couldn't he have just kept birthing new clusters to lobotomize them? Yrsa said (falsely) that Angelica was birthing clusters to work for BPO, so hypothetically couldn't Whispers do the same? Maybe there were certain requirements (like not being a psychopath) to being able to give birth.

I remember watching Sense8 in 2018 when I finished my first semester of Undergrad, and literally binged through the show in like 2-3 days. The shock, the horror, the amazingness this show made me feel has never been re created by any other. I have watched the show several times since and each time I watch it , I manage to find something I might have have missed previously.
I watched Sense 8 by fluke and it is literally The Show for me where I so wish I can watch it for the first time.I am very new here on Reddit and I would love to Know, what were some of the storylines or characterizations or just favourite things aboutthe show?

TLDR: I found the one of the locations featured in season 1 while visiting Seoul, S.Korea!

The area is really nice. I can definitely see why they picked it for that scene.

Although I didn’t spend as much time as I was hoping for. Apparently there were some politicians (maybe local officials?) visiting the area. A ton of law enforcement presence. So I sat for a bit and left. Did a search but couldn’t find anything. Maybe that’s all in my head. At least I don’t think a super buffed guy wearing ear piece and sunglasses walking around is “just a library volunteer” LOL.

Currently visiting Seoul. I’d love to find this spot where Sun and Capheus had their conversation.
I know this stream shown in the frame is Cheonggyecheon. If anyone could identify the bridge it would be greatly appreciated!

I just watched the Japanese movie Linda Linda Linda, which stars Doona Bae, and I highly recommend it. Really fun, feel good movie, about 4 high school students preparing for the annual festival rock show. Doona Bae plays a Korean exchange student who speaks and understands Japanese poorly, but is recruited to be the lead singer for a Blue Hearts cover band.

I am rewatching Sense8 for the nth time and I guess I never paid full attention to Sun’s mom and the the way that woman guilt tripped her daughter. It’s common knowledge her brother is below garbage and her dad is just garbage that tried too late to redeem himself.
I never see much discussion about how much her mom fed into it.
Normalizing misogyny and making deathbed requests to her young vulnerable child for said child to keep prioritizing her dumbass brother and inconsiderate father.
Her entire birth family is trash.

Rajan is such an interesting character to have in a show like this. None of the other characters have a Rajan, and the throuple that formed for them at the end of the series is imo very different from the Dani/Lito/Hernando situation.

I kept waiting for Rajan to be a bad guy, or at least somewhat unforgiving. Yet he surprised me at every turn and took every opportunity to redevote himself to Kala.

In the beginning before they were to be married, I was frustrated with him for not seeing her obvious discomfort about getting married. Every time she spoke to him about it she gave him an out, tell him she understood if he didn't want to marry her, or question his motivations and every time he'd double down on wanting to marry her anyway. I saw it as a bit manipulative at first and I felt like he was pressuring someone who was obviously less than thrilled.

But on rewatches I see it as Rajan making very early concessions in his commitment to her. Rajan had already decided to love her, and nothing short of her choice to not love him back was going to stop him from doing so. He trusted her choices and believed in her words. Whether or not she seemed hesitant, she regularly reassured him that she wanted to be married and he believed her. He was curious about her, and when she opened up about her condition he accepted it even before understanding.

I believe Kala's experience with Rajan was specifically what created her connection with Wolfgang in the first place. We know the sensates resonate with each other when they are having similar emotions or experiences, and Wolfgang had serious trust issues. His relationship with Kala was implicit, a given, since Wolfgang pretty much only trusts himself. Kala, growing up with a loving and supportive family and being a woman of faith, had limited experience with the kind of doubt/skepticism she experienced with Rajan. Her connection to Wolfgang was born of this feeling, of needing validation for experiencing it at all. Rajan was not romancing the trusting faithful version of Kala, he was romancing Wolfgang, the part of her that Wolfgang represented, which was why he was so often present during moments of intimacy.

People felt the ending was rushed, and I agree to an extent, but truthfully I think Wolfgang and Rajan were falling in love throughout the course of the entire show. To Rajan, Wolfgang was an extension of Kala, a side of her that was always there that he'd never had access to. I wish the show explored him grappling with the reality of it more, but I think energetically that is the essence of their relationship.

Anyway I liked Rajan and his story, what do yall think?

Watched it for the first time, finished it in 3 days. Sense8 is such an amazing show it made me feel things i didn’t know i could feel, i didn’t know how lonely i actually was and how better this show made me feel. Its difficult to describe but now that i have finished it i feel like a wreck. The finale was really rushed and had a lot of tropes and people randomly showing up to help out of nowhere but the still the rest of the show felt like a fever dream. It is such a unique show i just don’t get how it got cancelled and how it was never recommended to me until a few days ago. I miss the cast and everyone in the show, it had so much potential but the cancellation definitely made things difficult (Netflix ugh!). Are there any similar shows i can watch?

Guys I am very late to the party , but Omg 😭😭, just finished the show , and this is perfect Example of Euphoria, throughout I was so soo engaged , and there was so many happy, blushing , thrill , emotional moments , each and every character feels like I want to hug them , the Ending could have been Little Bit Better , it feels easier kind of , till the end I was Scared that what if villains comes back but As soon the last S*x scene comes I was like Okk I very much sure now that they won't return 😂😂😭 , So Intelligently made and Sooo much of Dedication and hardwork is involved, Great Directors , Writers ...

I just realized: Sun's brother sent in those fake prison guards to kill her, right? But if he could do that, couldn't they just help free her instead? I know this is after he kills their dad and Sun swears revenge on him, but why didn't he think to do it before? Like "Dad wait, I think I know a way we can save Sun, save face, and I don't kill you" I know it's a bit of a nit pick, but it still felt like it was worth pointing out.

EDIT: To everyone saying that he's a selfish asshole, I agree, but would it not still be in a selfish asshole's best interest to be on good terms with a potential enemy rather than provoke the one person who could destroy your whole life?

My brain chemistry will never be the same omg 😳 this was a show was told to watch about 10 years ago, and putting it into perspective that it was released after gay marriage was BARELY legalized… this show was SO ahead of its time!! I feel like it represents so many things too, and they ended it really well for cramming like 3 more seasons of material into 2.5 hours!

I added the spoiler tag just in case but one of my favorite moments are when the cluster all appear together and they’re all having fun and being happy even with them going through shit it’s just so cute, or when they’re all running together like they’re all hunting xD

“I feel you” and “nothing matters when we’re dancing” has been stuck in my head for the past week. And “what’s up” has a whole new meaning to me too. LOOOOVE THIS SHOWWWW

Just finished the series i afraid it wouldn't stick the landing because I heard it got cancelled in the middle but it was definitely better than I thought though the antagonist got sidelined I'm definitely happy with the happy ending so I can sleep peacefully tonight definitely a feel good show is there any other shows you guys recommend where the characters have this kind of bond and banter that was definitely my favorite aspect
