Adding on: He played the character Tadzio in the film adaptation of Death in Venice, which is about an adult man who develops an obsession with his character (who is in his young teens) and starts stalking him and his family.

I didn't get that far in the book, did he actually start stalking? So far I got the impression he was 100% passive aside from stolen glances and that the entire spectacular psychodrama happened inside his own head.

Yeah toward the end he starts following the family around the city trying to catch glimpses of Tadzio and he suspects that the parents have caught on (although it’s questionable how reliable his read of the situation is) and starts trying to convince himself that Tadzio knows and is encouraging him.

yeah i genuinely have no clue why 😭 im pretty sure i had like 5 upvotes but then i checked again and ig people decided to be mad today. i don’t think he’s controversial from what i know, maybe its just that they don’t like kpop? i’m not super big into the genre either, but i guess people will always find something to be upset about if they seek it out 🤷‍♀️

Idk why you are being downvoted. It is a different kind of attractive, and Phantom Blood Dio definitely has a bit of a smooth faced appearance going on that is not very Rutger Hauer-like.

In Stardust Crusaders I can see the comparison to Hauer though.
