I assume his decision to run was so he wasn't late to his funeral.

u/Xenoman5 1d ago

He wanted to make sure his heart was really pumping to more efficiently spread the toxin.

Well that’s the first time I’ve seen the full cycle of someone dying from a snake. Thanks Reddit . It’s 7am

Context :-

In many Hindu communities in India, families organize a community meal after someone's death as part of funeral-related customs and rituals.

23

u/keo_ruug 1d ago

It’s a thing in Balkans, too.

16

u/Parazit28 1d ago

In Russia too

18

u/keo_ruug 1d ago

It originated because of people who have had a long travel for a funeral, they need to eat, and it stuck. I imagine it’s the same reason in Russia.

u/nashvilleprototype 1d ago

America too specifically in the south east

2

u/Yah_Mule 1d ago

Pretty much everywhere people get bitten by cobras.

1

u/Thunderlock1 1d ago

Just U.S.in general

10

u/electricvelvet 1d ago

so everywhere. everywhere has this custom. food is a comfort. and when you're grieving you don't feel like cooking.

1

u/Thunderlock1 1d ago

Of course......? no shade on anyone the response stated south east especially. That was all.

2

u/nashvilleprototype 1d ago

Eh I moved to wyoming a few years ago seems forin here. The us is a vast place

2

u/GivesYouGrief 1d ago

Spelling checks out

9

u/Dr__Sloth 1d ago

The 18 second video summarising their death and funeral must be a newer tradition.

2

u/Home_Planet_Sausage 1d ago

Reminds me of that 5-second video 'Late for work'.

2

u/AutisticDadHasDapper 1d ago

Don't these funerals also have a snake handler as well?

1

u/WalkerTDX 16h ago

In my part of America we call them Mercy Meals.

33

u/danngree 1d ago

Damn, that’s a big king cobra and their venom is insanely strong. Guy had no chance.

16

u/No-Requirement-9869 1d ago

But he had the choice not to mess with it.

20

u/Trentang_Ina 1d ago

That was fast.

16

u/JapDrag 1d ago

Bruh

13

u/Hughley_N_Dowd 1d ago

If one gets bitten by a very venomous snake, make sure to do a little sprint or a slower but longer jog.

This ensures that the venom really gets to where it can do the most harm.

11

u/No-Nonsense-Turtel 1d ago

Fucked around and found out

8

u/InvestmentPatient117 1d ago

Food looks decent

7

u/Spiceynuggetz 1d ago

That even the same guy? The guy in the photo didn’t even have a beard and looked like a different person

2

u/OSRTheJourney 1h ago

Have you ever seen a dead body at a wake? The appearance changes, sometimes drastically. I want a closed casket for sure. I don't want folks last memory of me being embalmed and looking bizarre.

6

u/ceebeefour 1d ago

I think the oversight here, the fatal flaw ab initio in this endeavor was when he picked up the snake.

6

u/suspicious_hyperlink *shits an absolute unit* 1d ago

He did it for social media, social media points is what killed him.

1

u/SumOfRoots 1d ago

In before comment "I have never seen that term before in my life. What video game franchise is this from?"

3

u/HighPriestessSkibidi questionably stable 1d ago

I took Latin for 4 years in highschool and it actually came in handy for once 😂

4

u/jon_467 1d ago

That's the ultimate FAFO!

10

u/sergiulll 1d ago

It really feels like running was exactly what got him killed in that case (apart from stupidity).

36

u/Slimjuggalo2002 1d ago

I was kinda thinking it was the snake's venom.

3

u/sergiulll 1d ago

That part is kibda obvious. But antivenom exist so my guess is if he didnt run and elevate his heart rate, he might had a chance to survive.

1

u/TheAggressiveSloth 1d ago

But pumping the venom directly in the heart faster is what you're supposed to do right ?

7

u/Dr__Sloth 1d ago

You can just remove the heart then if that's where all the venom is.

2

u/Glittering_Raise_710 1d ago

One of the dudes on that bike could have sucked the venom right out of his heart and none of this would have happened

2

u/sabreus 1d ago

Good thinking. They could use a straw. Pierce then straw really quickly to prevent it from sealing back up.

9

u/Pleb_Overlord 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yep, I'm from Australia and running around is the worst thing you can do after a snake bit. You're supposed Apply a pressure and Immobilise the bitten limb, ideally by splinting and remain calm

Edit; i'm tired

4

u/mad_sAmBa questionably stable 1d ago

I don't think he had that kind of intelligence and logical thinking considering the way he was holding a fucking King Cobra 💀

3

u/Wildcard311 1d ago

Yeah, slowing heart beat and not panicking is first step when exposed to poison.

Camera man should have taken off running to get medics or a motorcycle to him.

2

u/z0rb0r 1d ago

How much time did he have? What else could he have done besides not picking up snakes barehanded?

5

u/Dpremequeen 1d ago

Too early for this on this blessed Sunday. Back to bed I go

5

u/Foxx026 1d ago

Good morning...... and good night

2

u/JobAlternative6109 1d ago

“In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!"

10

u/Mugpup 1d ago

When did 🐍 cobras suddenly become dangerous? I don't read that language but I am sure it says he was completely fine because running after a snake bite is the best way to get cardio as your body deals with the venom.

4

u/batmanineurope 1d ago

You want to induce arousal so that all the blood can hide safely in the genitals.

1

u/Mugpup 23h ago

That is medical doctor professional genius right there!!!

7

u/I_loseagain 1d ago

Exactly if you don’t get the blood flowing then the venom stays heavily in one place. You need it to spread to dilute the toxins and increase survivability to cameraman levels

2

u/Mugpup 1d ago edited 23h ago

Either that or let it bite you in both hands so the two venom sources cancel each other out as they meet in the middle.

5

u/Trevor_Gecko 23h ago

I've heard you can slow the venom down by panicking and taking your anguish out on others and/or the cobra.

2

u/grunt2runt 1d ago

Hopefully this is s joke. Pretty sure it's the other way around. Wanna slow down blood flow if anything. Surely s joke 😃

1

u/EnvironmentTough3864 1d ago

absolutely. spread the venom as fast as possible throughout the body so it can't cause harm to a specific location. same reason they force march those who face high radiation poisoning.

0

u/MicheleNP 1d ago

Whether you run or walk. Cobra venom kills you.

5

u/Mugpup 1d ago

I am pretty sure you can outrun it.

-2

u/MicheleNP 1d ago

King cobras can move about 13miles per hour. Faster than most humans

2

u/Mugpup 23h ago

Then I would ride a faster king cobra 🐍 to get away from the one that bites. That is scientific thinking at it's best!

3

u/Fun_Routine_5245 1d ago

Darwin Awards

3

u/REBORNED1 1d ago

I still wonder why didn't they take him to the hospital, at least they could have tried with another antivenom or something

2

u/mjklsimpson 1d ago

millions of years of evolution to die like that?

2

u/ydomodsh8me-1999 1d ago

That's why we have brothers and sisters

2

u/SupernovaGhost11 1d ago

if you look close, i think it's a monocled cobra not a king.

2

u/fuckingscott 1d ago

Running after a venomous snakebite raises your heartrate ensuring you die quickly. Doesn't seem like this dude was a mensa candidate in the first place though.

2

u/stewpdasso 15h ago

Dead guy NOT the same dude getting bit. Even if it was, dude in bite vid did all the wrong things.

First, he should've put a tourniquet on the finger.

Next, running after getting bit was proly the biggest mistake! Getting that heart rate up and pumping that venom around quicker equals a quicker death.

Last, waiting any amount of time w/o a doc would proly equal eminent death.

The bright side, Darwin has achieved removing more bad genes from the gene pool and everyone around him got fed really good! 😀

5

u/Repulsive_Ad_8248 1d ago

At least he won't reproduce, what an idiot

8

u/Left-Function7277 1d ago

Uh looks like he already did😔

4

u/mjklsimpson 1d ago

that's unfortunate... at least in a couple of years we might get another video like this

2

u/Ok-Watercress-1924 functional regard 1d ago

Remind me in 10 years 💀

4

u/mad_sAmBa questionably stable 1d ago

Bro chose one of the most aggressive and poisonous animals in the planet to hold bare handed ☠️☠️

7

u/TrustfulLoki1138 1d ago

Don’t worry, it’s not poisonous, he could eat that cobra and be perfectly fine.

1

u/Big-Potato9868 1d ago

Wow… wow. That was a very quick cycle of dumb to death to let’s eat.

1

u/Ultradad57 1d ago

Dead, buried and had a good send off all in one day 😥

1

u/not4lack-imagination 1d ago

Worse thing he did after was run,it only quicken the genome circulation in his blood.

1

u/brklntruth12 1d ago

Good job snake 🐍

1

u/ShuckingFambles 1d ago

Do they have a performer on at the funeral, say, a fella holding 6 motorbikes back with his hands?

1

u/Johnj75 1d ago

Asian Steve Irwin runs out of luck, just like Steve.

1

u/kulfsson 1d ago

So.. Part of the preparation of the body is to give it a partial shave? Else it is not the same person laying on the ground.

1

u/-Citizen_Zero_ 1d ago

It's not even the same dude.

1

u/ThisThingIsStuck 19h ago

Fake af likely deranged. Stupid fkers

-10

u/TheGamerMAKS 1d ago

Can we get death posts banned please? Honestly about to leave this sub.

-7

u/magicwuff 1d ago

Second this. Way too much death or serious injury without even so much as a nsfw tag. Gross.

-3

u/TheAggressiveSloth 1d ago

For me it's the insanely brutal ones

0

u/God_Country_ND 7h ago

You may be looking for the “Absolute Units” sub, not this Shitty one. But no, that could at least use a NSFW tag

0

u/SinSeitan 1d ago

Was that a black mamba?

0

u/Softspokenclark OSHA Violation 1d ago

The last is fake right?

-2

u/Takssista 1d ago

Dude was just providing for his family to eat.

0

u/Fluffy_Yak_5660 1d ago

Let me run after to get my blood pumping and really get that venom moving....

0

u/nice1bruvz 20h ago

He picked it up so dumbly he may as well have said bite me or I kill your family
