Seat Bracket to Recline NLR ERS5?

I just got my SimLab GT1 Pro cockpit and a Next Level Racing ERS5 seat. However, I am finding the seating position to be too flat. It's not necessarily uncomfortable, but I am coming from a foldable rig (similar to the NLR GTLite), which had a slightly reclined seating position. I like that slight recline, and that bit of upper leg support the recline gives.

Since the NLR ERS5 has an integrated seat slider on the bottom, it needs a flat mounting surface. However, I am struggling to come up with a solution to accomplish this that won't raise the seat too high.

My initial thought was 2 pieces of aluminum profile attached either along or across the bottom of the seat sliders. Then I could use a bucket seat bracket to accomplish the recline. However, I worry the slider mechanism would be wonky to work at an angle or perhaps it would bind/catch on the aluminum profile, or that will raise the seat too much.

I had also thought about seeing if the integrated seat slider could be removed from the seat, then mounted directed to the cockpit. In theory, I could then mount a bucket set bracket on top of the slider and 2 pieces of aluminum profile to seat so it could be mounted to the seat bracket in a slightly reclined position. I still worry about it raising the seat too high, but at least the slider wouldn't bind/catch.

I am guessing somebody else here has done something like this, so I am curious what you all have done that worked for you.

What an addictive hobby. Love V8 Supercars in Australia, short throw shifter is my jam. I really enjoy the logitech but the lack of ecosystem to buy different and oem looking wheels for ps5 and pc is slightly annoying!

Help Buying a used T150 + TH8S - what should I test/check?

I'm looking at buying a used Thrustmaster T150 with the basic plastic pedals and a TH8S shifter for around $90 USD.

The seller has agreed to meet me at a public place, and I'm planning to bring my gaming laptop so I can test everything before paying. My main use case would be PS5 racing games, especially Gran Turismo 7 and maybe some pc sim Simracing in the future if I ever get a capable setup.

I've never bought a used racing wheel before, so I'd appreciate some advice from people who have experience buying second-hand sim racing gear.

I'm just getting into sim racing and looking to buy my first setup. I know the T150 is an older model, but I can't seem to find Logitech G29s for much cheaper than retail in my area, so I settled on the T150. It's also basically the only Thrustmaster wheel available near me.

What should I test when I meet the seller?

Things I'm particularly wondering about:

  • What are the most common problems with a used T150?
  • How can I check that the force feedback is working properly?
  • Are there any signs of excessive wear that aren't immediately obvious?
  • Is there anything I should test that I wouldn't be able to detect just by driving around for a few minutes?
  • What's the best way to bench mark or test the wheel? Is there like a specefic pc racing game I should try on?

And finally, is ~$90 USD reasonable for a T150 + basic pedals + TH8S in used condition, assuming everything works properly?

I'm planning to test everything thoroughly before handing over the money, but I'd love a checklist of things to look for so I don't miss something obvious.

Thanks! 🙏

Ever since I found a mod for the Maserati 250f I've been looking for an appropriate steering wheel. eBay is good like that! Here's a 17.5" wheel rim I have coming, and I'm going to bolt it on to a ANNX QR. It will take some interesting engineering LOL, pix once it arrives and I get this thing made.

Hey all, those of you who have a TR120s V2 with the single monitor mount attached to the rig, did you find that moving the monitor up or down as needed was a pain in the ass? I have the PC table attached and it’s made it even more complicated.

Has anyone changed or done anything differently on your setup to make this simpler? And don’t tell me to get stand por favor

Sim Rig Would you be interested in an affordable, locally developed Direct Drive sim-racing wheel?

Hi everyone!

I’m exploring an idea for a sim-racing hardware brand called KARU Racing, with the goal of making sim-racing equipment more accessible, especially for people who cannot afford expensive brands.

My first product concept is an affordable Direct Drive wheelbase with a custom racing wheel featuring an X-shaped design, ergonomic grips, paddle shifters, and a clean black-and-green aesthetic.

I want to approach this as a serious engineering project, starting with a working prototype and improving it based on feedback from actual sim racers. The long-term goal is to develop affordable hardware without sacrificing reliability or the driving experience.

I’m still at the early development stage, so I’m not selling anything or claiming to have a finished product yet. Right now, I want to understand what the sim-racing community actually wants.

I’d appreciate your honest feedback:

  • Would you consider buying a more affordable Direct Drive wheelbase from a new brand?
  • What price would you consider reasonable for a wheelbase and steering wheel together?
  • What torque level would be enough for you: 2–3 Nm, 5 Nm, or higher?
  • What would make you trust a new brand over established manufacturers?
  • What features would you consider essential, and what would you be willing to sacrifice to keep the price low?

I’m particularly interested in feedback from people who have built their own sim-racing hardware or currently use entry-level wheels.

Thanks for your time, and please be honest—even criticism will help me improve the idea.

Help Foldable Setups (GTLite air?)

Hello everyone!

I've recently purchased a G29 wheel and pedals that's been modded with an Acelith Morph G30 wheel. He's since upgraded and got a half decent dedicated setup.

I'm however at the starting grid with no space for a dedicated setup currently but have been interested in a foldable which is manageable.

From reading online, generally the Playseat Challenge is recommended as one of the better foldable but has noticeable wobble with the deck.

I've noticed the GTLine Air has not long released and reviews seem to be quite positive. Has anyone tried one or can compare to the Playseat Challenge?

Hey! The current choice of sim racing hardware is too big and I tried to answer the most important questions people have when looking at the starter bundle - who is R5Pro meant for, what are you losing over more expensive options and what are you winning over the cheaper ones. Hopefully it helps someone!
