Hey everyone,
I'm putting together my first sim racing setup and have run into some issues mounting my Samsung Odyssey G9 to my Advanced SimRacing freestanding monitor stand. Hoping someone here has encountered something similar and can offer some guidance.
My setup:
- Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G9 49" (S49CG954EN)
- Monitor stand: Advanced SimRacing Free-Standing Single Heavy Duty TV & Monitor Stand (Gen 2)
- VESA pattern: 100 × 100 mm
The issues I'm encountering:
Mounting plate doesn't fit into the monitor's recessed mounting area. The ASR VESA plate is too large to sit directly against the back of the Samsung. Fortunately, ASR included four standoffs/spacers, which I've installed into the monitor's four mounting holes.
Mounting holes don't appear to align perfectly. When I position the ASR mounting plate over the four installed spacers, the four outer holes on the plate appear to be slightly misaligned with the spacers. They're close, but not perfectly centered. I'm concerned I won't be able to secure all four screws properly.
Missing mounting screws. The ASR instructions say to use the monitor's mounting hardware, but Samsung doesn't appear to have included separate VESA mounting screws. The ASR kit primarily contains M8 hardware, which is too large. I need to identify the correct screw diameter and length to secure the ASR plate to the four installed spacers.
I've attached photos showing the four installed spacers and how the ASR mounting plate sits over them.
My questions:
- Has anyone successfully mounted this particular Samsung Odyssey G9 to an ASR Gen 2 freestanding stand?
- Is the slight misalignment normal, or am I missing something about how the VESA plate is supposed to attach?
- What exact screws did you use to attach the mounting plate to the supplied spacers?
- Did you need any additional adapters or hardware?
I'd really appreciate any guidance, particularly from anyone who's dealt with this specific combination. I'd prefer not to force anything or risk damaging an expensive monitor.
Thanks in advance!
