Question Dual Use rig? Anything besides Monster Tech?

First time posting here so please be kind if I missed something. Does anyone know of a good dual use sim rig? I mainly play Star Citizen but a few guys from work have been trying to get me into iRacing. I had a Logitech G29/next level GT lite a while ago but sold it.

I’d love to find a sim chassis that supports both driving as well as space flight (dual sticks and rudder pedals) with either a slide the seat to adjust or a quick change pedal mount, and the only thing I have really been able to find is from Monster tech, which is amazingly expensive!

Also thought about building a Hexosim rig and modifying it to add the flight sticks, but not 100% sure about it

Anyone have any suggestions or inspiration?

You can convert pretty much any aluminum extrusion rig into a dual flight/racing simpit, but you'll have to do a lot of figuring stuff out to make it all work. Monstertech has done all the work for you, which is why they charge a large premium.

For mine, I started with a Treq cockpit and started added accessories and parts from a variety of different vendors. The pedal plate is the hardest issue. I still don't have an elegant solution for mine, but there are adjustable and quick-release options out there to make rudder pedals and racing pedals work in the same rig.

You can do anything with an aluminum rig. This is an old picture of a way I set up dual use. Added my hotas to rails on linear bearings with locking handles. I later changed the stick to go up/down just behind the shifter instead of back/forth. I probably could have used the gas/clutch as rudder pedals but never tried and just used my twist rudder. I have since bought mounts like monster tech to use my hotas on my desk monitor, but this worked well for elite dangerous when I was really into it.
