Still blows my mind that "the suicide forest incident" guys are somehow still relevant.Ā
Then again, somehow so is "dead rat rotting in the sun for an alarm clock" guy and "multiple uses of the n-word on stream but he's Swedish so it's ok" guy.Ā
Is the last one pewdiepie? He said it once on the "bridge accident" and apologised for it. And I don't mean "Sorry I got caught" apology but real genuine apology
Every single one mentioned. PewDiePie's audience didn't care about "the bridge incident" at all, they mostly laughed and memed about it. Logan Paul's viewers didn't go anywhere because of his nasty stunt in Japan. And Asmongold has fully embraced his "roach king" fame. In fact I'd say the pearl-clutching attitude expressed by more mainstream media actually helped these guys gain notoriety, Internet culture cherishes scandalous entertainers pushing the envelope.
Unless of course they actually do something universally hated and morally abhorrent, like child molestation, then it's over.
"People were ok with making making light of suicide"
Asmon.. the rat thing is the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more to that story.Ā
Point is, these are things people should be appalled over. But, the shitty truth is that people suck and decided to keep supporting shitty people. It's not about "one bad actor" or "one incident" (at least 2 for pewds btw), it's about a culture that accepts these things as ok.
This. He would have played along if Logan knew how to STFU. IMS? One round ended, Logan ran his mouth. AJ came out in real fight mode and said "F the check!". Knew Jake could not sue, as they contract would go public. Then he cant claim he won real fights.
Nah, I think the āplanā was always that AJ would win the fight. Paul was banking on being able to spend the fight running away for enough time to tank the damage (hence the way bigger ring) so that he could claim he went the distance against an obscenely talented boxer, and obviously he must be better than everyone AJ has bodied. This was all about laundering Paulās reputation; there was never any hope of winning. Paulās actually got some hilarious pre-fight interviews where you can see him try and talk himself out of a panic attack in real time.
The moment Joshua was finally able to corner that rat was one of the best moments for true professional sport ever. Subscribers and views can't protect you against a heavyweight champion.
For some reason this image seems to foreshadow the global situation. We have a joke of a president in the ring with other countries who are tired of the US spouting āUSAā and āweāre #1ā to the worldā¦and the rest of the world is just setting us up for this type of devastating punch. Smile and surprised pikachu face on get up included. I just canāt shake the feeling. Weāre too loud and often wrong these days. In the publicās eye at least. Thereās probably way more going on than theyāll tell us but weāre most likely at war already.
Yeah, we will both get downvoted because this is a hate Jake Paul party. The guy has boxed on a decent level for a few years now so he knew exactly what was going to happen when he stepped in there, and still agreed to it. I was too old to watch him as a youtuber, but he has given a lot of former MMA guys a payday and spoken out on behanf of fighters for years now. I'll give him his props there.
