I forgot to mention the obvious “the A22 processor improves none on the processing power but instead runs much cooler.”

WHY DOES MAH FACEBOOK NOT SCROLL FASTER?!?!

Facebook is in another realm of lack of optimization. Not even my 12GB of RAM can keep the feed when I come back to it from another app.

That's the 100 network calls it makes to track everything you did since you left the app

I bet it even counts fragments of pocket lint while suspended.
The more aggressively they push their app in the web version (and it's pretty aggressive) the more inclined you should be to avoid it.

FB Lite app is better if it's still around, the one they made to track poorer people.

Ahh yes, the low priority folks

It’s so sad that, if I want to keep track of my groups and other niche things, they’re mostly on there. All second-hand things are also basically sold and bought through Marketplace. It’s an awful feeling.

FB on desktop only. I can still get Marketplace but they don’t get ERVERYTHING in my phone.

Screaming. Just screaming. These apps need to die

that's because they prioritize selling your existence to the highest bidder. save the website to your homescreen from your browser, or give it up.

That's like Chrome browser. It doesn't matter how much RAM you dump into that thing, it'll still take half of your system's.

Do you guys still use Facebook in 2026?

3

u/tiagojpg 19d ago

Local groups and Marketplace are the reason. Most people here also use WhatsApp so we’re doomed.

It’s kind of funny how becoming the new Craigslist is basically the only thing keeping a majority of Facebook users on the platform. I feel like even groups are dying. I can’t wait until something replaces Marketplace and FB finally dies. I just hope Zuck is somehow unable to get his fortune out and goes down with it.

Well, these apps are no longer optimized because they don't display a rolling window of refreshed brand new pages. Every time you click down a link tree you're opening a new instance essentially what is the app running in a web wrapper. And they do this for tracking metrics and boosting advertising. If you ever go into Instagram or Reddit on a mobile app and you go through different link trees, you'll see. Basically you can go back endlessly from where you're positioned in that vertical stack and essentially go back through the entire history instead of like swiping back to go back to the main feed. You have to go through 5 to 10 iterations of other pages that you went through first. All running simultaneously in the background. I find this to be extremely prevalent on X.

Funnily enough, I found adblock made Facebook on my PC run SO bad. I dunno if it was the adblock constantly trying to stop all the tracking stuff, or Facebook cucking the way it runs because you have adblock running but it suckedddd

UBlock origin has never had a problem with it, not when I used edge, not with Firefox

1

u/hoopdaddeh 17d ago

Could be a Chrome issue since that's what I used to be fair

1

u/Fit_Cake_8227 17d ago

Oh, I avoid chrome like the plague, honestly if a browser doesn’t support uBlock origin my goat, I’m not using it.
And what I know is that the trackers and ads do download but they’re hidden, not blocked like with uBlock

"Watchout! Illegals stole my WiFi and it could happen to you!!"

Then you get their ssn and stuff you know whatever.

Ironic saying this on reddit, where leftists spread misinformation and fear mongering 24/7.

u/BreadKnifeSeppuku 19d ago

How do you know I'm not an illegal leftist time traveling here to steal jobs to promote the advent of communism and most importantly...

Transgender super mecha femboy Hitler? He is never born if true blooded American patriots win. Just like there wouldn't be an America if Jesus didn't fight off the satanic dinosaurs for George Washington to meet Pocahontas.

Never know who to trust these days. Everyone has a mask!

u/Micro-Naut 19d ago

You can tell who the bad ones are because they have the snidely whiplash mustache. The masks cover this detail

u/Avarifenyx 19d ago

I’d say it’s more likely you’re a paranoid schizophrenic in the throes of a psychotic break experiencing delusions and should probably chat with someone about that.

1

u/M1dj37 19d ago

Brother.. you vote, they vote, we all vote. What the actual fuck do I care for? Do something else with your life.

1

u/Micro-Naut 19d ago

Get some duct tape and plastic and board up your windows. Because there's a thing called anthrax. Do you remember that? Do you remember when George Bush said to buy plastic sheeting because the government got mailed anthrax from their own laboratories?

Fear mongering right wing bastards.
The leftist are just copying your playbook.

2

u/Mrpotatohead1990 19d ago

but it scrolls cooler

1

u/matthew_yang204 19d ago

You should not be scrolling anyways
