She's in charge of HR and she was unaware that her boss was married? That's her story and she might be sticking with it, for now.
1.1k
u/raz-0 2d ago
Even if he wasn't, She's the head of HR and banging her boss. She's not cooked because the public hates her, she's cooked because she took a giant steaming dump on the core requirement of her career which is to be a credible HR person. Keeping that shit on the DL while at a friking company event is like a basic proof of competency.
People who want an actual HR person don't want to have that liability or have to explain her presence to their spouse. People who want to bang an employee don't want to have to explain she exists to anyone.
58
u/UnhappyWar135 2d ago
To be fair, HR being in bed with upper management does seem to be the core of HR these days. Just seems she took that too literally.
278
u/WearyAd8418 2d ago
Let’s face it, HR is just another piece of the administration. The HR director is no more noble than any other director wanting to advance their career.

To be honest, 99% of HR's work is protecting the company from its own managers.
As a worker, you might meet with HR five times in your entire time at a company. As a manager, it can be five times a day.
10
u/graminology 1d ago
My husband works in HR and the times he had to tell a manager "No, we can't do that. No, we really can't do that. Because that's tax evasion. That's illegal." is absolutely mind-boggling.

Understatement. The Cabot family are part of the Boston Brahmin families. There’s a popular old rhyme about them: “Here’s to the city of Boston, the land of bean and cod. Where the Lowell’s only speak with Cabot’s, And the Cabot’s only speak to God.”
Type of money where you could arrange for this type of thing to happen at a concert you knew your ex would be at and could be huge ammo against them. The more you know.
EDIT: felt compelled to add this while people are seeing my comment: her ex husband was also AT the concert that night. Mr. Cabot, that is. I’m sure he truly enjoyed the show.

What's crazy is that she is HR. I know plenty of people who have been fired for behavior like this, because HR simply says it's bad for business. It casts doubt on judgement, integrity, decision making, etc. Things that matter a lot when you're in a high enough position. I don't personally judge her for making mistakes or doing something fucked up, because we are all human, after all. But she absolutely should have known better.
And, personally, I have seen way too many people have their lives ruined because of one bad mistake. So fuck it, no sympathy.
115
u/areallynoobgamer 2d ago
If she knew he was married. And did this.
That’s bad.
But. Forgivable right? Human weakness and all.
However. As CHIEF OF HR, “I didn’t know he was married. He lied to me” Erm? So you didn’t do your fucking job then?
This then is the real unforgivable shit right? Like who is gonna hire a fucking HR that doesn’t even know whether or not the ceo is married. Let alone as the head of the department.
She ought to be raked over the coals for this newest change in the story. Hope she remains unemployed

Im HR. You can see an employees marital status. She chose to believe that it didnt matter bc they were “on the rocks” or whatever. This is why she shouldn’t have crossed the boundary at all in this professional setting, but also why you stay away from “married on paper” people bc they can say anything and you will still be a homewrecker bc you are dating a married person.

Because she's an HR leader who will never get any meaningful job as in any high paying company as the head of HR again because she very publicly broke a taboo that shows she is untrustworthy at her job. So she's hoping she can use the media as a way a way to gain sympathy and launch some other career.
However, the issue as everyone stated is that she is miscalculating. She isn't some important figure that people care about. She was the butt of an ironic joke. It's over. It's not topical outside of meme potential anymore and there's no meaningful slant to this that people will latch onto so she can rewrite her narrative.

u/IsThatHearsay 2d ago
Because she doesn't think of herself as a bad person, so feels compelled to keep lying, changing the narrative, and trying to justify her actions to everyone rather than just accept fault and move on.
I have a friend whose cheating ex-husband keeps doing the same thing. Even though he was caught cheating with 100% proof (not to get into details) he still keeps trying to gaslight her, spin it as her being crazy to friends (who all know he cheated), and making excuses.
He still has never once vocalized or admitted that he did in fact cheat, as his conscience seems to refuse to accept he is a bad person who chose to (repeatedly) do bad things.
I feel like the day he finally admits it to himself it's gonna break him, which is needed it he ever wants to learn how to stop being a selfish, narcissistic, gaslighting prick.
