It’s Elon so probably announced in 2012 with the first models overheating and crashing into stuff as terrified passengers try to escape the death trap, jumping to their demise after breaking through the windows, and thanking God the long terrifying fall has saved them from the overbearing agonising heat death

Not AI, but it was a lightweight composite shell shaped like a car filled with gas cannisters, not an actual car. Does not take away from the very cool feat in a Hollywood practical effects sorta way, but not a car.
