like my old 1080ti, my 3090, every phone I've ever owned, etc etc.

I have chilled out hard on electronics these days. I realized I was a slave for incremental upgrades and fomo.

Honestly, for daily needs and even gaming, we hit an inflection point a while ago. I’d safely bet we’re 15-20 years away from any true innovation

I'm still running on a 4090k I put together in 2015 with a 3060 I put in in 2021 when my old Radeon died, runs everything fine in 1440, even new stuff, and just installed Linux. The inflection point was awhile ago.

...shit I'm still rocking my 1080ti. Still plays plenty of newer games just fine 🤷‍♂️. For a bit last year i thought it was time to replace it just to realize I only needed to replace the 8/9 year old CPU and motherboard.
