Im 34 and I got my ass whooped every night almost. Belt, switch, extension cord, telephone cord, wooden spoon a random stick. Pretty much anything in reach if nothing was i got punched and slapped.

That's sad as hell. No kid should be physically assaulted.  I'm sorry. 

I spanked my kids 2 times, because that's what happened to me as a kid and that what's I thought good parenting was.  

I quickly realized, no, you don't need to hit your kid to discipline them.

Whenever we went out and either i didnt listen or i asked for something i would get in the car they would park by the dumpster or the way back in the parking lot pop the trunk couple whacks then off we went home.
