We still had the cane for the first couple of years I was in school. I remember getting canned as a 6yo because on lunch break a teacher thought they heard someone swear (we didn't even know swear words at that age). So all 4 of us got canned because we didn't admit to it.

I was also a kid in the 90’s.

My teachers would hit us. I was hit by teachers and our principal kept a fucking paddle and he used it.

My parents had a wooden spoon that hung on the wall but if they weren't close enough, any belt or shoe close enough would suffice

But they mixed it in as well and took my shit too. What really pissed me off was they would take my shit that I had worked independently mowing lawns for and bought myself. Like no that's my fucking property guys, you're straight up stealing from me.
