Belt from dad or wooden spoon from mom. Either way asses were getting beat.

And I deserved every swing.

Man I hid my mom’s wooden spoon a couple times lol, she found that shit and there was retribution, my dad was a big dude and didn’t need a belt…

Yep. If I got the belt, I knew I did something that deserved it.

no, you didn't. i just don't believe in corporal punishment. It just doesn't sit right with me that a person, much much larger than yourself, can overpower and beat you in order to induce pain so that you learn not to do something again. I'm probably really biased here but as a millennial, i think we got it right. I also don't think gen Z is that complacent.

If you deliberately ran into a wall and your body gave you pain, did you deserve that pain?

not the same thing entirely.

would you be okay if your boss decided to punch you in the face because you didn't get your job done correctly the day before? you think you would learn your lesson and work harder?

I probably would learn my lesson to be fair.

I'm not saying you wouldn't. i would have respected my parents a lot more if they didn't beat me as a child. i don't condone that abuse on anyone, its not a good teaching tool and its the reason why more newer parents are shying away from that style of parenting.
