I don't get why everyone is giving so much credit to Elon, dude probably couldnt solve a differential equation. Credit goes to the engineers. Useless or not, it's impressive work by them.
You’re right that the engineers should get the credit for the cool invention. Props to them for sure. However, if something goes to shit, then Elon is the face and gets blamed. Well, specifically, Tesla as a whole, then Elon. He’s getting the majority of the credit because he’ll be taking the majority of the blame (from a public standpoint at least, probably not internally at Tesla).
Because someone has to pay them and front the money for the experiments.
Not to say those engineers shouldn’t be given their flowers but he’s both a public face for the company a big monetary contributor.
Because, for what its worth, he brings attention to those things that the engineers made. Marketing is just as important, and figures like Steve Jobs also didnt make anything but he was still crucial to the success of apple.
I dont like Musk as much as the next guy, and he's nowhere near steve job's level, but for some reason, people slurp up everything he spouts, which is also good for the engineers working for him.
He’s just the modern Thomas Edison. Hire smart people to work under you and invent things or solve problems and then take the credit like it’s your own.
Yes and that made him a trillionaire. I'm not saying he deserves that, or that i think hes some genius, he's clearly morally bankrupt and evil.
But also obviously it works, he has thousands of employees under him and multi trillion dollar companies because of the mythical image he created of himself.
