And if it fails to avoid the accident, the odds that one of those tanks gets punctured is high considering the space they take up. That would just turn the whole vehicle into a bomb.

You can say that about any car. Cars use gas, gas can blow up. I guess we better stop driving cars.

Is the gas pressurized to the point where a puncture can cause the car to rip itself apart like in an explosion? 🤔

Not pressurized, but a punctured gas tank can cause modern cars to burst into flames.

Maybe we should just all go back to horses because it’s safer.

You’re talking about something catching on fire vs what would be more akin to a bomb going off.

A doubt a car bursting into flames is going to turn pieces of the car into flying shrapnel the same way a pressurized tank rapidly degassing would. If the gas tank is punctured, you still need a flame or spark. A fender bender can cause a pressurized tank to rupture and instantly release all that stored up energy.

These cars have to go through extreme safety testing and follow rigorous public regulations. A fender bender is not going to cause it to explode. 🤦‍♂️

Uh.. it’s science? 🤣

Go light some gasoline on fire with a lighter or match and see what happens.

Then go pressurize a tank to its max psi and puncture it with a screw driver.

Let me know what one you’re able to walk away from easier. 🤣

Both are dangerous. But these cars are built to avoid these things.

We’re back at my original sarcastic comment. Maybe we should go back to horses because it’s safer.

I’m sorry. I’ll stick to the sarcasm. 🤣

We already allow people in the states to own guns. Why not nukes too? Amirite?!?

1

u/hayes4jm 17h ago

Are you trying to compare a high pressurized vehicle to a nuke..?

1

u/beChunguss 17h ago

It depends… We are being serious or sarcastic? We should just go back to sticks and stones! Sheesh.

1

u/hayes4jm 17h ago

My example was a realistic concern the public had when cars were first invented. We’re obviously way past that concern today.

Wtf does nukes have to do with cars?

1

u/beChunguss 17h ago

Absolutely nothing.

The same as comparing gas catching fire to a pressurized tank blowing apart and sending debris flying like shrapnel. 🤣

We are being sarcastic. No?

OMG bro, the guy just wants to argue. ignore him

I can guarantee this car has not gone through any of the requirements to make it street legal.

1

u/hayes4jm 8h ago

This car is street legal already. It won’t be ready for purchase for a few years though

1

u/deathrictus 7h ago

Hahahaha. Oh, wait, you're serious? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The tanks of compressed air inside are basically a bomb waiting for an accident.

1

u/hayes4jm 6h ago

You do know this is going public in a couple years, right? It’s coming whether you like it or not.

1

u/deathrictus 3h ago

You know that's a pipe dream, right? Flying cars have been 'just a few years away' for half a century now.
