The wright brothers utilized mass public spectacles to advertise their flying devices once they got their concept working. Its the same thing elon did/does, create a spectacle that people will discuss in their free time

Yup, the algorithm back then didnt promote all that inventor trash, it focussed more on social issues. If that wright brothers trash appeared on our feeds, we wouldve protested the datacenters. Dont even get me going in that lightbulb bullshit, ridiculous

People would love a flying car. I just don’t think compressed air is the future direction of that technology. Thus this comes off like a gimmicky and narcissistic publicity stunt rather than a useful proof of concept.

Even if compressed air isn't the future. The fact that they got it lightweight enough and fast enough to make it succeed at mid air balancing is insane.
This like like saying the first engine was shit because steam wasn't the future.

There's no real advance here. We've had things that can maneuver with compressed gas for decades. They just put this tech in a car which is silly cause it'll never be street legal. It's a marketing gimmick cause the final product will definitely not have anything that can provide a vertical lift. Suction? Sure, that's also been done before too, but I'm doubtful anyone is going to be buying a car with a bottom skirt that has to hug the floor cause it's going to wear out very quickly.. Unless you're using it solely on a track, it's not practical. Rear thrusters? Yeah it's possible, but who's going to buy a car for a thruster that only lasts a few seconds, and takes up a massive amount of room in your vehicle and takes a long time to refill? Let's not even get into the safety issues this creates, so it may also never be street legal either.

Everyone who thinks flying cars are any type of transportation answer is very very dumb. Think about the noise associated with any type of aviation. Now multiply that by millions of vehicles.
