Yall missed the point. Nobody wants a show.to stop so they can be preached to

Then why stop a show to preach about not preaching? Kinda a self-defeating act, no?

Seems to me he was more than happy to stop a show to preach while, in bad faith, presenting himself as someone who is against the practice of doing so.

So, no. We didn't miss the point, but you may have missed the hypocrisy.

Did that happen?

Did that happen?

Yes, this is what this thread is entirely about

No its about Metallica singing about injustice. They are saying that Macklemore speaking out or anybody else speaking out about political stuff is the same as singing and being political in your songs.

The commenter asked if someone from Metallica stopped and said a speech.

The answer is yes, James hetfield did that.

That's an objective fact

There's an awful lot of bots in these comments

Relax. I agree with you. He shouldn't have said shit either.

This person has never seen a Metallica show. James and the rest of the band have "stopped" the show many times throughout the years of playing live, addlibing and off the cuff performances.

Then just don't say anything at all...

Metallica stopped the show to talk about it lol

4

u/Rhobaz 8h ago

But it’s ok to stop a show to talk about how you’re not going to stop the show

u/mcrider1969 8h ago

I actually agree with this. He shouldn't have said shit.

A simple "free Palestine" is preaching?

7

u/Queasy-Doughnut-5512 9h ago

Little bit yeah, like saying Jesus loves you to someone it’s kind of unnecessary

u/Totally-Human-Red 8h ago

"It's kind of unnecessary to point out a genocide is ongoing"

Fucking weirdo. Were you dropped as a child?

2

u/Queasy-Doughnut-5512 8h ago

People can say free Palestine once a day everyday but you and I both know we won’t do anything about it and nothing we do will change anything. So yes unnecessary. Say a bad thing is bad is unnecessary

The world is what we make of it. Everything that was ever accomplished was accomplished by people first believing then doing. Freeing palestine is simple: just stop dropping bombs. Its silly to just give up before attempting such a simple and easy action

1

u/Queasy-Doughnut-5512 6h ago

That sounds simple but in reality America serves Israel’s interests

1

u/PenisSlipper 6h ago

Yes. Another simple observation with a simple solution. My point is to not muddy the waters and pretend this is a complicated conversation

u/Totally-Human-Red 8h ago

"You and I both" nah, miss me with that doomer "we've tried nothing and are oout of ideas" bullshit.

I do shit all the time. So does lots of people I know. There was a church funneling funds that got disbanded up here.

Also- Israel should not be allowed to censor the land of free speech even slightly.

u/Following_Perfect 8h ago

why do you want all entertainers to say that fucking slogan? not everyone needs validation for their beliefs. If your beliefs need validation then clearly you are only following the crowd. I just want to listen to songs I like LIVE. I did not buy a ticket to a "Free Palestine" concert.

u/ProfessionalRun6826 8h ago

I'd walk out if a performance stopped to preach some stupid propaganda

What the hell else do you call it?
