There doesn't have to be a message. But if you're going to stand up and criticize that some bands have a message, that's a problem. Het's basically drawn a line in the sand that there cannot, or at least should not, be a message.

And yeah, for a band that has a number of songs that are damn close to a message themselves, it feels a bit weird to make that declaration.

Why is it a problem? If an entertainer's opinion affects you in any way, you should rethink your life.

It's unhealthy for someone to say 'you're not allowed to have and share an opinion'. In this case, it's telling other entertainers they can't (or shouldn't).

Just because I can ignore him doesn't mean it's a good thing to say and sets a negative standard.

He didnt say that. Maybe read or listen to what he actually said before forming an opinion.

Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their bull****.

That's not even stopping short of a direct attack on sharing an opinion on stage.

I missed the part where they said you are not allowed to have and share an opinion. They never said others shouldnt be allowed like you stated. Big difference between saying they don't want to do something and saying others shouldn't be allowed.
