It's literally just an excuse to riot and burn and loot, like it always is. I've been dealing with French "protests" for years now.

Some people unfortunately uses them for that, I can't deny that. But peaceful protests have been able to happen in other cities from what I saw (like Rennes)

Ever since I joined the French Foreign Legion years ago, I have been on Operation Sentinelle 3x and have maybe seen a single instance of non violent protesting.

As a french person too I've been able to witness some. And thanks for your service

Nah man don't worry about it, I enjoyed the FFL believe it or not, it's just sad how bad this country is falling due to unchecked middle eastern immigration.

Opération Sentinelle is an antiterrorist task force. They're not law enforcement.

The picture you posted is an insanely dishonest take about who's demonstrating. It's not even the students today, but a revival of the Yellow Jacket movement, surely something someone a bit informed about French recent history would know.

Here is a picture of a students' demonstration, from last week. Note one of the sign says "Dès qu'on proteste, votre seul mot en bouche c'est "Musulman" - "At the moment we protest your only take is "Muslim". Exactly the narrative you're trying to sell here.

The French government is screwing its citizens over. They have enforced a lot of laws using the 49.3 under Macron's 2 terms, like they did with retirement age for instance.

People are right to riot, instead of quietly submitting.

There's literally no way in hell you just told ME what Operation Sentinelle is lmao. it's not JUST an antiterrorism task force, we patrol the streets and have the full authority to detain criminals caught in the act of a crime, I have done this multiple times including during times of intense rioting.

Yes post a picture of the protests from last week and not the riots today including the Limoges town hall literally being burned to the ground not 3 HOURS ago and this picture which I took on my phone not 2 hours ago where these "protesters" are throwing bricks at police and police vehicles while setting fire to the shops and destroying the streets.

Like every person in France, actually. But that doesn't change the fact Opération Sentinelle is an anti-terrorist task force. They're not the police nor the CRS. Using your service as an argument of authority doesn't work here.

Yes post a picture of the protests from last week and not the riots today

This is pretty rich considering you're the one who originally lied about "students". I simply rectified what and who students were. Now you want to move the goalpost to today's demonstrations, while it was exactly my point? Please. [EDIT] Your comment was actually moderated. Good thing some people aren't buying your lies.

these "protesters" are throwing bricks at police and police vehicles

Boohoo, poor policemen who keep protecting a government which has been dangerously shifting to authoritarianism since 8 years. I really hope they're OK so they can swiftly get back at punching innocent students next week.

The mother of all violences is institutional violence. The French government had it coming. If those cops had any sense of moral, they'd drop their uniforms and join the protest. Maybe they'll think about it in a couple of decades, when they see what their pension is like.

Not saying looting is great by the way. But it's just a side-effect of perfectly justified demonstration and popular uproar. Collateral damage if you will, like bombs on Afghan kids.

Joins group that destabilized the Middle East and Africa with invasions and neo-colonialism
Is shocked when people there want to leave

Yeah? When was the last time Africa and the Middle East was "stable" I wonder?

u/Mittrawnurodo 10h ago

It was more stable than Europe pre-colonialism, with some of the most successful and prosperous economies in the world.

Lmfao. Okay.

Please educate yourself about may 1968, there was way more destruction and violence from the protesters and surprise surprise, they were mostly "français de souche" and french history books now paint this protest as heroic.

And you somehow assume I agree with that? You probably think I agree that Marie Antoinette was rightfully killed and not Murdered too huh?

I'm doing great, living my life, not projecting all my insecurities and hatred on nationalistic imperial fantasies by becoming a coppie/bootlicker of elites, thinking he'll be in the club if he licks hard enough, thanks😅
