Common Rider - Thief In A Sleeping Town (Lookout! Records, 2001) LK-271

Man, how I wish I could say I like this one as much as Common Rider's full-length albums Last Wave Rockers and This Is Unity Music, but yeah...no...it just seems a bit under-cooked to me. Four songs that don't seem to gel or come together as a concept like the LPs do. To be fair, I consider the albums pretty much masterpieces and three home runs would be almost impossible. Production value here feels a little thin. It'll retain a spot in my collection, sure, but...I'm at a loss for words as to why I don't love a Common Rider record, but there it is. Does this one make anyone feel anything?

Feels more like classics of love (band) than what would become common rider sound

Good point. It's not that It's BAD per se. But yeah more of a bridge between the two bands than a CR joint
