Different drop zones
I am a newly licensed I got 29 jumps only and I think in couple of days I will go skydiving in a new drop zone. Is there a big difference jumping from your home dz and a random drop zone. What should I expect or prepare before going. I am going to skydive dubai
edit: i am jumping in the desert location not palm and they accept a licensed jumpers there i was wonder what to expect rather than the requirement of jumps as i am fully aware.

I’ve never jumped in Dubai. That said, a DZ briefing is going to be super important. Make sure they know that you’re newer to the sport. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions you have. As it goes without saying, now that you have a license, you are responsible for your own safety. Make safe decisions, fly conservatively. Have fun!

Look up the requirements for each Dubai location. The palm is usually a D license and varying amount of jumps 500-1000+. The dessert one they do AFF at.

Why are palm requirements so high?

Look at the area it is in. They have a high reputation to uphold, they don’t need stupid problems.
I jumped there about eight years ago, and they even made me do a hop and pop first to observe my canopy flight. I had thousands of jumps then.

You will not be able to jump at Dubai with only 29 jumps. When I was there (at the Palm) a couple of years ago, they were not letting any sport jumper jump because they were too busy with tandems (it’s a tandem factory). Also, in the rare moment they might let a sport jumper jump, you’re going to need your D license and many more jumps. I’m pretty sure that would be the case at their other location too, but you can check their website. The landing area at the palm is not very big and there are not many outs if something goes wrong, so you’d definitely need more experience under your belt anyway.

Different drop zones might have license requirements in order to jump there. Call ahead before making your trip.

Dubai Palms is minimum 1000 jumps (though I think I heard they raised that to like 1500 or 2000 jumps now), so you aren't jumping there.
You can probably jump the desert location, but I'd call ahead to be sure.
If you're using your own gear, be prepared for it to be full of sand/dirt/grime... and expect to do a full clean when you get back home.

I’ve jumped at 5 different DZ’s, 3 of them before I had even gotten to 25 jumps. 😛
Make sure you talk to a coach or instructor to ask about their expected landing patterns/area, ask them to point it out to you on your ride up so you know what it looks like from above, make sure to get the exit order figured out while you’re on the ground, and maybe even pay for a coach jump! A coach would make this whole process smoother and fun. =)

Email them in advance, theyre currently backlogged with reserve repacks and busy with recurrency jumps as they just reopened
Otherwise you'll be fine, just do a couple solos to adjust to the location and landing patterns. Plenty of coaches on hand to talk to for advice in the loading area or packing mat

It's a skill on its own, and one you really only get by doing it. Expect it to be a little awkward at first; that eventually goes away.
Jumping at new DZ's makes you a better skydiver and brings new friends
