đ˘ Announcement [New and Improved] Discord Server Open!
Hello all! We have a new and growing Discord, more than 100 comrades have joined in the first month!
If you had attempted to join the Discord through the auto-mod response, or through the sidebar's link, you were formerly directed towards a dead server. Now, the server is pretty much set up.
We are also looking to start a book club soon using the Discord to meet, but will have discussion posts here too for those who do not want to participate in the discord.
It is still pretty bare bones, we have roles and channels set up however suggestions can be made *within the server* on things that could be added. We are looking at ways to get more people engaged and looking for suggestion on activities we can do as a community related to socialism.
For now, here is the invite link, join away!

Discussion China and its railway/trains advancement in just 26 years
The image itself isnt really socialist but it shows the rapid advamcement that china has made in such a short time and makes me wonder what other countries could do if they werent robbed by colonisation or being financially restricted by the west

Art âWhat is a Revolutionary?â Poem by me
A question as old as time has puzzled Society.
âWhat is a Revolutionary?â
The People in power will tell you theyâre terrorists and thugs.
But the answer is actually quite elementary.
The Revolutionary is an Altruist.
They do what they do not out of some love for violence like the Media says they do.
The Revolutionary has a deep unconditional love for Humanity especially those oppressed.
That theyâll do whatever ever it takes so no hurts them ever again, no matter what the oppressed went through.
But you may ask âWhy not use Reform?â
Reform will not save us.
The Politician or Businessperson will not come to our need.
Instead to save themselves theyâll throw us under the bus.
So the Revolutionary fights on screaming enough is enough.
On the Street or a Field.
To help create a Society fit for us.
Only through Revolution will the World truly be healed.

Discussion I hate that we're expected to clarify when we don't agree with the likes of Kim Il Sung and Pol Pot, but Capitalists don't have to say that they disagree with Hitler or The British East India Company
I'm a leftist. One might even call me somewhat of a far leftist. But every time I engage in discussion and they call my ideology "evil" and whatnot, they bring up regimes who were oppressive not because of the communist frameworks they took on but because they were oppressive regimes and that's what they do. The Khmer Rouge are frequently brought up in conversation, for example, from whom I of course distance myself because I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Pol Pot as a leader.
So here's my question: why is it that they get to call leftism inherently evil because of this, but I don't get to call capitalism inherently evil because of evil capitalist entities who are evil because of capitalism and not coincidentally capitalist alongside being evil? What's stopping me from calling rightism evil just because Hitler was right-wing? I'm sure they would feel the exact same as I do when I get lumped in with Pol Pot. But unlike with leftists, liberals and conservatives aren't expected to actively distance themselves from Hitler because it's assumed by default they don't agree with him. So why don't I get the same grace with leftists I don't agree with? I feel like I'm talking in circles here but it really does both confuse and infuriate me to no end the lack of scrutiny everyone to the right of me faces with respect to their views simply because it's the norm.

Activism How can socialism replace the current global neoliberal order?
I'm from the Global South, Africa specifically and I'm not entirely a socialist. I'm more center left but as I learn more about the world, I see myself leaning further left and adopting a socialist framework.
I want to ask how socialism can replace the current capitalistic global order where most countries are capitalist.
How can we get there as global society? Like as in what are the practical ways and how would this new global order operate?

Politics What is going in France and how socialist view this ?
We all know France is land of prosting, I mean they literary chop king and queen head, but as a outsider I understand what French student goes through and they have any right to protest, this include protest for housing crisis, however seeing video of looting and Lyon tourist office burn might get wrong interpertation for reason of this protest. And next year they will be election in France, the orange mad man is now blaming Muslim and Immigrant, this will fuel the rise of the Far Right (National Rally).
Also a Mayor of a city in France was just attacked by israeli terrorist.
