Look regardless if you hate Elon or not this is actually seriously fucking impressive

It is if its a functional car.  It isnt if it is not.  We have no definitive proof that the car on stage was actually functional and not just a shell for the stunt.  Track record of Elons announcement style gives me no reason to just trust.

It is not a real car. There is a screen shot floating around that shows a zoom in of the bottom and it looks like a mock up on a ladder frame. You can see the frame in the meme pboto.

Here you go. Some sort of grid chassis. Definitely not a unibody and there’s certainly no batteries.

My assumption is that rhe car was just a shell for everything else.  No suspension visible on the landing or anything which certainly the car (fully built functional with everything claimed) is weighty enough to have resulted in some kind of movement.  But instead it moves like a brick.

That -could- be argued because of everything else...  but then it would barely be driveable anywhere in the real world and would be thwarted by a really costly speed bump or an imperfect road.

So I stick to what's the most logical.  That its a concept car missing a lot of things to make it a production vehicle in any capacity.  That it is just there as a frame and shell to wow people with thrusters and buy Elon a few more years of holding on to people's reservation buy-in and avoid more bad press for the delays it has had to launch.

It feels like showing me a slice of cheese as proof that a sandwich exists and will eventually be served 10+ years after ordering.

Except the guy selling it is a conman with a track record of over promising and under delivering.

Nobody knows what it actually, in pure fact, is what we saw.

At this point it 's simply a 'special FX'

Nope, a flying car is impressive. This is NOT that.

We know you would’ve thought the Wright Brother’s first plane was not impressive not understand how technology works

If you think that’s a flying car, I got a bridge to sell you.

u/TriiCop 2d ago

So then by your logic, the wright brothers first plane wasn’t a flying plane correct?

1

u/orochi_crimson 2d ago

Nope, one is unlike the other. The landing was impressive, but don’t kid yourself thinking that it flew.

1

u/TriiCop 2d ago

How are they unlike the other? Define what “flew” is to you and let’s see if it matches the definition of the wright brothers first flight

Nice try Stephen Fry, but if you can’t see it, that seems more like a ‘you’ problem.

u/TriiCop 2d ago

The fact you refuse to define it tells me all I need to know.

It’s okay, you just don’t want to admit your wrong

It’s clear that you’re trying to be pedantic and it’s off-putting. If you don’t know how to google flying as a definition, that’s on you mate.

Here let me help you since you’re incapable of what constitutes a flying car or VTOl: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_car. Go learn something for once.
