So excited. Can't wait for it to push beyond the arcs of the first anime.

yeah i personaly i wuld have prefered a s3 to the og anime i just prefer the old style of art and music but aslong as we get more of the story adapted any minor complaint i have with the remake wil become trivial

I prefer the structure of the story and the dialogue in the new enemies dub, the old one makes me cringe at some points. but I prefer the animation style and the atmosphere of old one, especially transformation and the wolf form of Holo, it felt more like a Kami, the new Holo just looks like a big puppy (but it is portably on purpose).

i like bouth dubs equaly. but i love that they managed to get the same voice actors for the main caracters and i absolutly agree the old had better atmosphere and holo felt more spiritual and mythical

Even if we had gotten a new season instead of a remake it almost certainly would have looked very different. The way a production looks is hugely influenced by the staff as well as the time its made in, just take a quick look at notable anime that had huge staff changes between seasons-> Attack on Titan, One Punch Man, High School DxD, they all looked rather different from their previous seasons.

I too really liked the old artstyle, but a new season almost certainly wouldnt have kept that anyway due to aformentioned factors, and the obviously benefit of the remake is that it ideally will have the upcoming season(and hopefully more so after) all have the show looking cohesively.

Plus adapting from the start when you already have knowledge how its going to end allows them to add material that feels very cohesive, like the intro in the first episode of the remake.

yeah i get what your saying geting the same people on the job wuld be imposible and its almost sertain wuld be atleast slightly diferant and i understand the fear of the new seson feling out of place because of a new style but its also very comon for the diferances to feel like upgrades atleast wen the new seson tries to maintain the art style. like with gintama s2

and i see the value in having a remake from a ground upp it removes a lott of unsertainty it garantees it feels coherant and not haveing to work around the original is probably a big help for the wrighters

True, there is benefits to either approach. Obviously I think a big reason for the remake was also simply the very nature of it being a very long time since the original seasons aired, doing a remake is a safer way to introduce the IP again to new audiences and establish it for potential new seasons. If they directly started with a continuation of the old show it would obviously limit their potential viewer base more.

yeah i have seen anime with many years betwen sesons where you barely feal any diferance like rail gun s2 and s3

Well a quick look seems to reveal they still had mostly the same staff, or at least a lot of the same key figures like same director as well as it still being the same studio and producers?, so that makes quite a lot of sense.

which isn't the case for Spice and Wolf, for instance the remake has Toho as one of the major producers, and they werent involved at all in the original.

thats fair studio changrs often throws a wrench in to a production especialy wen it comes to maintaning a cohesive aetstyle

1

u/shewy92 13d ago

Didn't the new series cover stuff the old one didn't?

2

u/Background-Customer2 13d ago

yeah but it was only a little this new seson will be nerly all new content

To put into perspective. Where....I want to say episode 15? of the remake ends, the original had 2 seasons. The last 7 episodes of the remake introduced 1 new arc.

The first teaser trailer for Season 2! A glimpse of the remake's adaptation of light novel volume 5.

Season 2 is scheduled to broadcast sometime in 2027. No official announcements regarding a exact release date yet.

Season 2 Character Cast:

Romi Park will reprise her role as Eve (source).

Kevin Penkin is definitely and brilliantly back in S2. Can't wait to hear the tracks he crafts for this season!

He did an amazing job with Season 1. This is not only one of my favorite anime, but one of my favorite anime OSTs too!

20

u/SamuraiShinsen 14d ago

2027, but we do not have an exact premiere date yet.

3

u/someusername987 14d ago

I thought a few months ago when they released the first teaser art for S2 it was mentioned that it would be at the start of the year.

11

u/SamuraiShinsen 14d ago edited 14d ago

The January 2027 premiere date information was from a leaker. There have been no official announcements regarding a exact release date yet.

Given the nature of anime production, it could be possible the leaked release date could slip.

3

u/someusername987 14d ago

Oh interesting, I didn't realize that. Well thanks

6

u/misuta_kitsune 14d ago

It was speculated among fans, none of which have ties to the production. So no, there is nothing officially announced.

u/ODST_Parker 14d ago

After all this time since the first series, it's a bit surreal to be back here again, knowing it'll be even better than before.

Best of all, this time, there's a much higher possibility for a full adaptation!

5

u/Expert_Sympathy_672 14d ago

Hell yeah, i was waiting so long to see the new character enter the story 🤭

5

u/Alex_146 14d ago

It's so peak!

4

u/RootaBagel 14d ago

BTW, I love the soundtrack! It has medieval vibes, which is one thing I really liked about the previous version's soundtrack.

4

u/BeautifulPhoto9433 14d ago

Toho, as in the Godzilla company?

4

u/HeavensRoyalty 14d ago

Let's freaking go

4

u/Engini 14d ago

Did they downgrade the staircase scene?

2

u/NoWitness79 14d ago

Probably just how the PV is cut. We'll have to wait and see when S2 is finally released

5

u/Elucidator__ 14d ago

Let's ghooooooooooooooo!

4

u/Sea-Association72 14d ago

Yes Yes Yes Yes

3

u/StarBatt1e 14d ago

Is there any speculation on the # of episodes for the season?

8

u/misuta_kitsune 14d ago

Speculation? Yes... Official confirmation? No,...
Most assume we'll get another double cours season of 24 or 25 episodes, I at least hope so,... but we'll have to wait for a definite answer to that.

u/stopyouveviolatedthe 14d ago

I was hoping for a glimpse of Cole's design. Wonder what he'll sound like.

Edit: spoiler tag.

That is a very interesting question now that Yen Press has decided to do Wolf and Parchment Audiobooks. Since Yen Press likes to get the anime VAs to narrate, whoever they cast for Colwill have to be able to hold his own with Emi Lo Myuriin narration. I'm genuinely curious as well to see who they get to voice him.

2

u/MidwestIndigo 14d ago

Do we know the English voice actors?

3

u/_Nikimi 14d ago

The voice actors are the same, since they kept the same VA from the original anime to the reboot, it would be strange to change them now

2

u/NoWitness79 14d ago

Well, there will be some new roles to be cast for the characters debuting in S2 who didn't appear in the previous anime adaptation. Some of whom we will continue to meet up with in the light novel series right up to present day. So they hopefully get some long term contracts to sign.

1

u/_Nikimi 14d ago

As long as they dont change Holo and Lawrence VA of Latin dub and Japanese im fine tbh

2

u/NoWitness79 13d ago

Barring some tragedy or other circumstances beyond their control, I do not think they are looking to change out any of the main VAs in nay language. But some new VAs we'll likely see in S2 like for Coland Keimanas a couple examples, will require actors that can potentially reprise those roles for years to come

2

u/_Nikimi 13d ago

Ofc ! 👌
