Looks amazing bro, I am also an amateur oil painter but have been picking up so many tips lately, and discovered an incredible one: so before you draw next time, add an extra layer of gesso on the surface, let it dry and sand it down smooth. Then do that maybe 4-6 times.
By then, all the little canvas “textures” and stuff will ALL be filled up with the gesso, making it so that the surface of the canvas is smooth like PAPER, so then your drawing and painting can already look super refined and polished due to that.
A lot of artists try to build up the layers on the canvas with paint, but that takes WAY too many layers and is just more complicated lol it would look amazing here. If I didn’t make sense, tell me and I’ll show you an example lol
So precious, pretty thank you! Frankly i’m liking the canva effect a lot, it doesn’t bother me. I’ve always worked with graphic tools like ink pen, pastels, marker and such. So that little bit of noise gives me the impression of working on a canva. This is a woodboard, I prefer hard materials to paint on. put I will keep that in mind for next works. For this, I only used 3 layers of gesso.

Yes, it is 🙂 I’ve always drawn, but it’s only since January that I’ve been painting, sooner or later I’ll have a dedicated internet page, may it be on Instagram/Facebook or an indipendent page
The painting will be very different, it will be a Caravaggio style oil, with a strong light cutting dramatic edges and the ambient will be black. I decider to copy the drawing to another canva, i don’t want to ruin this drawing.
